Putting a poop in your bin

PoopInYourBin · 25/03/2023 12:44

Walking the dog to the vets, she poops, I tie it up in a poop bag and then put it in a wheelie bin which is kerbside for emptying. Owner of the bin threatened to call the police.

YABU don’t put poop in my bin
YANBU it’s tied up, not a problem

YABU. Carry it with you until you find a public waste bin.

AliceMcK · 25/03/2023 12:45

It’s your dogs shit take it home with you!

cloudyskye · 25/03/2023 12:45

YABU!

GiltEdges · 25/03/2023 12:45

YABU. It's incredibly rude to use someone else's bin and as a dog owner myself I'd never do it. Wait until you get to the next public bin.

ShirleyPhallus · 25/03/2023 12:46

Owner of the bin threatened to call the police.

not the poolice?

Stugs · 25/03/2023 12:46

Well, if this indeed happened, then I'll bite. I often pick up my dogs shit and I would never dream of putting it in someone's kerbside bin. It literally wouldn't occur to me. If it was my bin and I saw someone do it I'd think they were a lazy fucker but wouldn't call the police. HTH.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 25/03/2023 12:47

Threatened to call the police 😂 It's in a bag and the bin is about to be emptied so I can't see the problem.

If you'd walked up their driveway and taken a shit in their bin then I'd see their point

WeWereInParis · 25/03/2023 12:47

YABU

Although obviously the bin owner saying they were going to call the police was an overreaction. I'm not sure what they expected the police to do about it.

ChocSaltyBalls · 25/03/2023 12:47

YABU

if I wanted dogshit in my bin I would have a dog. Put it in your own bin. Calling the police is OTT though

tealandteal · 25/03/2023 12:47

I don’t even put dog poo in my own wheelie bin! If the bag spilts it would be a nightmare! Also the council won’t take it if it’s not in a bin bag.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 25/03/2023 12:48

Of course you don’t put your dog poo in someone else’s bin!

StrawHatOnTheParcelShelf · 25/03/2023 12:49

Hasn't it only been about 4 days since we last had this debate?

TheChosenTwo · 25/03/2023 12:50

I wouldn’t mind! I’d prefer it in my wheelie bin than left on the street for me to tread in.
Disclaimer - I don’t have a dog so this is not a situation I will ever find myself in which is a good job as it sounds like you’d all lynch me 😂

Indeed and the vote went the opposite way to this one if I remember rightly. So bizarre

PoopInYourBin · 25/03/2023 12:55

Well that’s me told. I have only done it a couple of times before but won’t do it again after reading the comments. Never confronted though. I did say sorry.

Better in my bin than on the pavement.
But better in a specific poo bin or your own bin.

Frances24 · 25/03/2023 13:00

YABU to put it in the bin but they would also be ridiculous for calling the police. My house faces onto some fields with lots of dog walkers (I also have a dog). Saw someone doing this once and I did think it was bloody cheeky but I’m not going to waste police time on it

This - this - and this again. We have a dog and I would never do this.

We live a lovely holiday area, and people have done this and it incenses me Grin !! And yes, I would say something, but maybe threatening to phone police is a bit much...

Morningcoffeeview · 25/03/2023 13:02

People get really precious about this but I don’t understand why. It’s a bin, not a breakfast bowl.

Agree. It's bagged and the bin is at the kerb so not sure where the issue is.

It's a bin, what's rude about it.

I literally scoop shit with a poop scoop and empty it into my bin. The council have never refused to take it.

GreenWheat · 25/03/2023 13:04

No, I do not want your dog's shit in my bin. I wouldn't call the police (what a massive waste of their time), I'd just return it to you. But this is one of the reasons I have a lock on my bin - all sorts of anti-social buggers who think it's fine to use my bin as a public one.

Anotherturnipforthebooks · 25/03/2023 13:05

There was a thread last week from the other perspective - the op was annoyed someone had used her bin. Plenty of posters on there told the op they were unreasonable.

Clearly an op's place is in the wrong.
