Putting a poop in your bin

PoopInYourBin · 25/03/2023 12:44

Walking the dog to the vets, she poops, I tie it up in a poop bag and then put it in a wheelie bin which is kerbside for emptying. Owner of the bin threatened to call the police.

YABU don’t put poop in my bin
YANBU it’s tied up, not a problem

Hilarious.

It's. A. Bin.

A. Bin.

Waste goes in the bin.

This is peak MN. On the other thread, everyone was pro 'dog-poo-in-the-bin.'
Now, to be contrary, here we are.

I repeat, waste goes in the bin.

FFS.

I wouldn’t call the poleece but I would put it back through your letter box.

OP is guilty of fly-tipping which is a serious criminal offence. However your childish plan for retaliation would get you deservedly into far more trouble.

Besides, what sort of absolute minger would even think of that plan, let alone express it on a public forum? Even if it was intended as light-hearted. You, it seems.

IDontWantToBeAPie · 25/03/2023 23:53

I'd do the same as you but apparently everyone on MN is horrified at waste being in a waste bin.

MsJD · 26/03/2023 00:02

nice treat for the bin men

@LondonPretty you don't own your bin tbf. The council does. You're loaning it.

MsJD · 26/03/2023 00:06

saw some in a litter bin today, people put their hands in or near litter bins, revolting

adulthumanfemalemum · 26/03/2023 00:12

I would be furious about someone doing this. We are extremely careful with what we put in our bin, rinse packets out etc so the bin doesn't stink or get maggots like many people seem to get. Food goes in the food bin or compost bin. We have no nappies or disposable sanpro. So everything in our bin is "clean". Do what you like with your own bin, leave mine alone. I'd feel the same about someone putting a dirty nappy in my bin.

MsJD · 26/03/2023 00:18

I would call the Poolice

You're disgusting, put it in your own bin

Clymene · 26/03/2023 00:25

Putting rubbish in other people's bins is classed as fly tipping and antisocial behaviour. Take your dog shit home with you

Sairk · 26/03/2023 00:31

Meh. I really couldn't get het up about it. It's in a bag. Throw it in. I don't care.

ScottBakula · 26/03/2023 00:34

StrawHatOnTheParcelShelf · 25/03/2023 12:49

Hasn't it only been about 4 days since we last had this debate?

Yeah I though that too but on that thread most people seemed to think it was ok
.
MN is a strange place !

No they're not, its THEIR bin, for only THEIR use. They have the right to not want other people's stinking dog poop in it

They have the right to not want anything in it that they didn’t put in.
Take your dog poo or anything else you want to chuck all the way home with you.

Maybe in theory.

In practice, if anything happens to my bin and it needs replacing, I have to pay the council for a replacement. If it gets dirty, I'm the one who has to either live with the smell and the flies or clean it. It's my bin in every practical way I can think of, even if it nominally belongs to the council.

TenTwentyAtCheltenhamSandwich · 26/03/2023 07:39

It only becomes illegal if the bin’s in their garden. I wouldn’t do it, as I wouldn’t like anyone to put it in my bin. Put it in your own bin.

orangeblosssom · 26/03/2023 07:42

YABU.

londonrach · 26/03/2023 07:46

I've been having bin wars with my neighbour for years, she often forgets to put her bins out, so after mine has been emptied she'll either steal the bin I like having glass in my windows so I don't steal it back or she takes the rubbish out of her bin and puts it in mine so it looks like mine hasn't been emptied at all. I've rung my local council about this and they say "it's absolutely fine for her to do this"

More councils are putting these bins in parks and public places.

Got to applaud graphic designers and their subtle messaging techniques. Somehow that little dog-shit-bin-symbol dog silhouette has powerful lady-on-the-paper-sanitary-towel-disposal-bag vibes, even though it's a dog.

Morningcoffeeview · 25/03/2023 13:03

I literally scoop shit with a poop scoop and empty it into my bin. The council have never refused to take it.

That's disgusting
