Putting a poop in your bin

PoopInYourBin · 25/03/2023 12:44

Walking the dog to the vets, she poops, I tie it up in a poop bag and then put it in a wheelie bin which is kerbside for emptying. Owner of the bin threatened to call the police.

YABU don’t put poop in my bin
YANBU it’s tied up, not a problem

Raineth · 25/03/2023 15:42

YABVU. The binmen here don’t actually empty the bin, the wheelie bin is just to help me move the rubbish bags to the kerb on bin day, and then I have to lift out all of the bin bags separately and leave them for the binmen.

So it some twit like you put a dog poo bag in, I’d have to turn the wheelie bin completely upside down and shake it out. With a bad back. So fuck off with your dog shit, either take it home or don’t have a dog.

WigglyWaggly · 25/03/2023 15:44

It's another YAB VERY U. I had people do this with my bin and the bag burst once. It was DISGUSTING 🤮 Someone else's old bagged dog shit is as disgusting as it gets.

What is the reason you wouldn't put it in your bag?

Fifi1010 · 25/03/2023 15:44

Ew no I don't own a dog so I would be livid if someone put dog shit in my bin. The smell would linger..

KilljoysMakeSomeNoise · 25/03/2023 15:48

If my bin had bags in it and was out for the bin men then I wouldn't care.

If it had just been emptied I'd have to fish it out so it wouldn't get squashed by bags, so I wouldn't be impressed.

If my back was down my drive I'd be a bit pissed off you'd walked down my drive to put your rubbish in there.

Candymay · 25/03/2023 15:41

I wouldn’t call the poleece but I would put it back through your letter box.

And the the police (poleece?) would be knocking on your door!

Liz1tummypain · 25/03/2023 15:52

YABU.

Gross. Find a public bin

Crumpetdisappointment · 25/03/2023 15:54

i wouldnt do it but you said it was out for collection so presumably was full?
no harm in that surely?

Crumpetdisappointment · 25/03/2023 15:56

From which I conclude that, people just like to argue with an OP and tell them they're unreasonable because they enjoy arguing and being contrary. Which is sad (for them).

yup

Crumpetdisappointment · 25/03/2023 15:56

people are always putting their rubbish in our green/garden waste bin
so very infuriating

FloraGreysteel · 25/03/2023 15:58

YABU. This come a up all the time and the answer is always the same.

CoffeeWithCheese · 25/03/2023 16:17

I'd be annoyed if you did it in mine - and I have a dog.

We have a specific smaller bin that we put the dog mess into, then into the bigger bin closer to collection day - otherwise the bags can get squashed by other waste in the bin and split and it ends up fucking horrible.

WindUpPenguin · 25/03/2023 16:21

Our bin men do not empty “loose” items from wheelie bins. You have to have your rubbish bagged up in big bags, so if you did this in my bon I would have to fish it out and put it in the bag (which I would likely have already tied before taking it out to the wheelie bin), so I would not be impressed.

I use small white bags but when I've been home for bin day I've seen them lift my couple of bags out rather than wheel the bin to the lorry. So a dog shit bag could easily be left at the bottom.

ArcticSkewer · 25/03/2023 20:37

Where do you lot live?
In the 1980s?

We haven't had that kind of bin emptying since about then. It's bad for the binmen to empty bins that way. Many health and safety issues. I would write to your council to complain about the many risks to their employees

Ours are pushed to the back of the bin lorry which has an automated 'lift and empty' mechanism. The binmen then return the emptied bins to the driveway. Much better, more hygienic, no back strain or risk of needle contamination for the workers

Okunevo · 25/03/2023 20:45

@ArcticSkewer The lorries have this mechanism. The binmen just choose to lift out bags from some bins. I assume it saves time to just lift out a couple of small bags than to use the mechanism. Mine are the size of the single use ones you used to get in the supermarket.

Fluffodils · 25/03/2023 20:46

PoopInYourBin · 25/03/2023 12:55

Well that’s me told. I have only done it a couple of times before but won’t do it again after reading the comments. Never confronted though. I did say sorry.

Good

Disgusting behaviour

Scunnered123 · 25/03/2023 20:58

Someone did this to me once, but it was the recycle bin and not general waste. I had to fish it out, disgusting. If I'd seen them do it I'd certainly have said something.

Pickingmyselfup · 25/03/2023 21:17

Wouldn't bother me, my bin isn't to eat off and I don't give it weekly cleaning. It gets cleaned if it gets infested so... maybe once a year tops?!

I absolutely wouldn't want poo in my inside kitchen bin although I do have a cat who uses a litter tray so I bag it in nappy sacks and leave it by the door ready to take out. Less wasteful than putting it in your whole binliner, realising it smells and taking it out asap. Did that with salmon yesterday so my fresh binliner isn't even half full.

The only time it would piss me off is if for whatever reason it stopped the bin being emptied but ours have no issue taking nappy bags that aren't in a binliner so crack on unless you are taking up all of my bin. Even if it's there 2 weeks I don't hang around my outside bin, I open the lid, chuck rubbish in and close again so I wouldn't be bothered about a smell unless I got flies but it would be difficult to prove. Unless you witness someone putting something on your bin how do you even know they have?!!

Ilooklikesusiedent · 25/03/2023 21:18

YABU and its poo not poop unless you're 4?

Same here, maybe why it doesn't bother me 🤷

PinkiOcelot · 25/03/2023 21:22

Wow! Someone posted about this last week, only from the perspective of someone putting dog shit in her bin.

she got her head in her hands. People telling her that’s what bins were for blah blah.

post another day OP. You’ll get different answers!

itsnotmeitsu · 25/03/2023 21:27

Would those people who are fine with someone else putting dog poo into their bin be happy with a human squatting down because they can't hold on and then putting their poo into that same bin? After all the bin's going to be emptied soon 😕. I say that as a dog owner who wouldn't dream of using somebody else's private bin for anything of mine, let alone dog dirt. We only get collections every two weeks. When the dog poos on his walk it's picked up and either dropped into a designated dog poo bin or brought home. I don't need anybody else's poo added to it.

PenelopeTitsDrop3121 · 25/03/2023 21:31

tealandteal · 25/03/2023 12:47

I don’t even put dog poo in my own wheelie bin! If the bag spilts it would be a nightmare! Also the council won’t take it if it’s not in a bin bag.

Where do you get rid of your dog poo then?

MissMaple82 · 25/03/2023 21:45

They need to get a grip. The police would tell them to jog on

MissMaple82 · 25/03/2023 21:49

Everyone acting like their wheelie bins are all holy and sanitary work of arts!!! Guess what? They're all manky and stink of shit regardless!!!
