Putting a poop in your bin

PoopInYourBin · 25/03/2023 12:44

Walking the dog to the vets, she poops, I tie it up in a poop bag and then put it in a wheelie bin which is kerbside for emptying. Owner of the bin threatened to call the police.

YABU don’t put poop in my bin
YANBU it’s tied up, not a problem

It’s poo in a bag, why are people so bloody precious? Couldn’t care less!

Randoms using my wheelie bin for their dog shit! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/4765082-randoms-using-my-wheelie-bin-for-their-dog-shit

Well, well, well.

Here is my thread from last week. I had choruses of "it's a bin ffs, get over it!" etc.

Now someone admits to being a CF who does this, and gets told YABU! 🤔

From which I conclude that, people just like to argue with an OP and tell them they're unreasonable because they enjoy arguing and being contrary. Which is sad (for them).

OP - YABVVVVU - so grim!! Do NOT put your dog's shit in anyone's bin except your own or a public one.

Thank you for the link. Trust me I will never do it again.

It's poo in a bag, just keep it in your pocket until you get home!

Somanysocks · 25/03/2023 15:12

And don't put it in people's skips on their drives either.

reddragon7 · 25/03/2023 15:14

Definitely not okay to use someone else's bin to dispose of your dog's shit without their permission! They may not feel comfortable with this, hence, there are public waste bins for dog poop or your own bin.

RemoteControlDoobry · 25/03/2023 15:14

I don’t think it’s unreasonable and I think someone would have to be quite bonkers to give any thought to the contents of their bin!

Having said that, I did this once. The bin had no lid so I just dropped it in, and this crazy woman came running out of her house and literally tipped her bin upside down and left the poo bag on the pavement. She was screaming and calling me names so I ran off at top speed!

So I’ve never done it since! (And for those applauding the woman, you are probably equally as bonkers🙄.)

Ew, do people put poo bags in their pockets? That’s grim!

Some dog owners do. I don't, I don't own a dog. If people want to own dogs then they shouldn't be precious about carrying around shit until they find a dog shit bin or get home.

Its just inconsiderate to use someone else's bin for your dog poop

maddy68 · 25/03/2023 15:20

They are being ridiculous. The poop is contained and in a bin waiting to be collected

elm26 · 25/03/2023 15:21

I'm a dog lover and a dog owner and I would never do this, walk with it until you find a public bin.

Calling police is dramatic though.

No they're not, its THEIR bin, for only THEIR use. They have the right to not want other people's stinking dog poop in it

I would be very cross to see someone putting shit in my bin. What if the bag were to split?

Bournetilly · 25/03/2023 15:25

I wouldn’t put anything in someone else’s bin nevermind dog poo.

iaapap · 25/03/2023 15:28

I was one of the angry people on the other thread as someone did this to me a few days back. I gloved up and fished it out. After the bin men emptied my bin, I wiped out the interior with antibac as I want my bin bags clean on the outside in case I have to put them in the car and take them to the tip when the bin men don't show.

No matter how well you bag dog shit, it still manages to make the bin smell. My bin smelt and it'd only been out midnight-8am when I found this bag of shit in it.

Bins are provided for the use of the household to which they belong. It's antisocial to use someone's bin.

vodkaredbullgirl · 25/03/2023 15:29

Must be the weekend another dog shit post.

iaapap · 25/03/2023 15:29

I even have my own dog and I don't put his shit in there - I use a public bin where you are allowed to put dog shit.

Thing is, dog shit is a daily problem. Every day someone will step in some or have it shoved in their bin.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 25/03/2023 12:50

Indeed and the vote went the opposite way to this one if I remember rightly. So bizarre

Why bizarre?

Fuctifin0 · 25/03/2023 15:32

I live rurally, there is a footpath down our private lane to the house. It is obvious it is a private lane, it is gated at the top, it also has a sign for the farm.
Every weekend, I pick up on average 6 - 10 piles of poo that have been left.
I would be over the moon if people picked it up and popped it in our bin which is strategically placed near the access to the field.
Sadly, they seem to think it acceptable to leave it ☹️

So I wouldn't have a problem if someone used my bin even though it is not something I would necessarily do.

AliceMcK · 25/03/2023 12:45

It’s your dogs shit take it home with you!

This is 100%! I would be livid if l found dog shit in my bin. It doesn’t matter if the bin is about to be emptied. The smell lingers on!

Wellillsayitifnoonelsewill · 25/03/2023 15:37

PoopInYourBin · 25/03/2023 12:55

Well that’s me told. I have only done it a couple of times before but won’t do it again after reading the comments. Never confronted though. I did say sorry.

I dont like poop in my bin. It’s a right ordeal trying to fit two weeks of trash in a teeny tiny bin and yes I know it’s bagged but it still smells and bags burst when your squashing your bins down. Either put it in a public bin or take it home for your bin.

but kudos for picking the shit up to be fair x

Favouritefruits · 25/03/2023 15:38

I really couldn’t care less, if their bin is on the street I’d assume it’s bin day anyway but I understand people get annoyed about all sorts these days, least you pick it up lots of others don’t bother even doing that!

CheeseDreamsTonight · 25/03/2023 15:39

Nope! That's very rude.

Candymay · 25/03/2023 15:41

I wouldn’t call the poleece but I would put it back through your letter box.
