I assume to complain about the censorship or intended of Gary Lineker?

I complained yesterday so I can then complain to ofcom when I get an unacceptable reply. The process is devious in that you can’t complain in advance of a show.

I complained based on last week being his possible last show.

The BBC and presenters should be impartial. That’s what we’re paying for.

I'm a football fan but as Match of the Day is only highlights, I only watch on iPlayer so I can fast-forward through the waffle/punditry.

Still think he has a point.

How does what he thinks and says when not at work affect his ability to deliver impartial football punditry?

People are allowed to say what they want as long as they can act impartially at work and do not bring the organisation into disrepute - and there's no indication he's ever used MOTD as a platform to campaign against the government of the day sending migrants to Rwanda or whatever.

He's not a political journalist or news presenter. Context is important.

Or for refusing to broadcast the final episode of Attenborough's series on British Wildlife becuase it highlifhts the destruction of the environment by the tory party.....

I used it to complain about Fiona Bruce yesterday. May need to use it again for Attenborough and Lineker. Busy times at the bbc.

People can complain about whatever they like at the BBC and I will not judge them for it.

But that is not the rule unless you’re a newsreader or reporter. Alan Sugar has made many political statements on Twitter, he wasn’t suspended. I wonder if it’s because he’s a Tory?

Interestingly the person who commissioned Match of the Day in the 60s was the BBC 2 controller who was David Attenborough!
