YABU for being ridiculously vague.

LlynTegid · 11/03/2023 08:52

I assume to complain about the censorship or intended of Gary Lineker?

I complained yesterday so I can then complain to ofcom when I get an unacceptable reply. The process is devious in that you can’t complain in advance of a show.

LlynTegid · 11/03/2023 08:52

I complained based on last week being his possible last show.

Snowsurprised · 11/03/2023 08:54

The BBC and presenters should be impartial. That’s what we’re paying for.

billyt · 11/03/2023 08:55

I'm a football fan but as Match of the Day is only highlights, I only watch on iPlayer so I can fast-forward through the waffle/punditry.

Still think he has a point.

BBC sucking up to the Tories? Who'd have thought??

(Not everyone can buy a job by arranging an £800k loan is it, I suppose)

Theluggage15 · 11/03/2023 08:56

You’re complaining because he breached his contract? How odd.

MissyB1 · 11/03/2023 08:58

Thank you OP yanbu and I will use the link and complain.

BBC impartial??! Do they really think we are that stupid?!

BattleofBeamfleot · 11/03/2023 09:01

The BBC and presenters should be impartial. That’s what we’re paying for.

How does what he thinks and says when not at work affect his ability to deliver impartial football punditry?

People are allowed to say what they want as long as they can act impartially at work and do not bring the organisation into disrepute - and there's no indication he's ever used MOTD as a platform to campaign against the government of the day sending migrants to Rwanda or whatever.

He's not a political journalist or news presenter. Context is important.

LeonardoAcropolis · 11/03/2023 09:01

Do you mean for people to complain about Fiona Bruce on Question Time?

LadyKenya · 11/03/2023 09:02

Thank you for the link OP. I will be complaining about the treatment of GL, for daring to speak out.

thedeepdarkwood · 11/03/2023 09:04

Or for refusing to broadcast the final episode of Attenborough's series on British Wildlife becuase it highlifhts the destruction of the environment by the tory party.....

Purplehyena · 11/03/2023 09:05

I used it to complain about Fiona Bruce yesterday. May need to use it again for Attenborough and Lineker. Busy times at the bbc.

People can complain about whatever they like at the BBC and I will not judge them for it.

If you wish too. She does work for the BBC. That is what the BBC complaints link can be used for!

jgw1 · 11/03/2023 09:06

SoupDragon · 11/03/2023 08:51

YABU for being ridiculously vague.

@SoupDragon Can you help me with in which way it is vague?
The title is BBC complaints, and the link and post are about how to complain to the BBC, seems pretty clear and precise to me.

LadyKenya · 11/03/2023 09:07

It looks like the BBC are not so impartial after all eh?

The BBC and presenters should be impartial. That’s what we’re paying for.

Like Fiona Bruce and Laura Kuenssberg you mean?

The BBC and presenters should be impartial. That’s what we’re paying for.

But that is not the rule unless you’re a newsreader or reporter. Alan Sugar has made many political statements on Twitter, he wasn’t suspended. I wonder if it’s because he’s a Tory?

LlynTegid · 11/03/2023 09:09

Interestingly the person who commissioned Match of the Day in the 60s was the BBC 2 controller who was David Attenborough!

Crumpetdisappointment · 11/03/2023 09:10

what did fiona bruce do?

Againstmachine · 11/03/2023 09:10

YABU for not sticking it on the Gary linekar thread and starting a new one.

Crumpetdisappointment · 11/03/2023 09:11

Crumpetdisappointment · 11/03/2023 09:12

gary linekar tweeted,
