No worries.

Why don't you start one?

@User1396390 I wouldn’t worry that you’re being hounded out of the thread.
But you could start a thread about Antarctica not taking 12 million immigrants which she believes they should
( nb Antarctica is the only continent with no permanent human habitation. ) Jgw1 thinks they could live alongside all the penguins.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jgw1 also wants them in Norway amongst the mountains and fjords 😂😂

Maybe a geography thread would help

ICrunchCrispsNotNumbers · 11/03/2023 16:26

I complained to the BBC last week. They showed a frankly irresponsible episode of 'Doctors.' That I thought was unsuitable before the watershed, so YANBU, OP

MavisMcMinty · 11/03/2023 16:32

I bloody love Jonathan Pie and he says it all here. I would LOVE him to write Gary Lineker’s resignation press conference speech!

MavisMcMinty · 11/03/2023 16:43

And here’s the Tory donor BBC chairman, who is so committed to the impartiality of others:

It's amusing to imagine Lineker and co are thinking 'we'll hit 'em where it hurts' and vast swathes of people who don't give a shit about football probably think an old episode of 'Bargain Hunt' is far better telly.

😃

Bucketheadbucketbum · 11/03/2023 16:52

He is a hypocrite and should have gone when he undermined the lionesses at the world Cup, or when he sold his soul to quatar.

1.2m of taxpayers money every year on him? Could be massively better spent. Teachers, nurses, anything!.

He is one greedy man. He needs to go.

Bestarchitectever · 11/03/2023 16:52

I love football and I'm not missing the BBC coverage at all....

However, thanks to this thread for highlighting what Fiona Bruce said and I shall be using the OPs link to complain about her. Outrageous!

PlateBilledDuckyPerson · 11/03/2023 15:57

All employees are contractually obliged to follow those guidelines.

Is Lineker an employee ?

HappiestSleeping · 11/03/2023 17:07

I wouldn't worry about it. It's only football. Not a proper game, like rugby.

So the BBC should have sacked him for going to Qatar to present for...the BBC?

He is real hypocrite, standing up for people less powerful than himself. He has even given them refuge in his own home. Yes, massive hypocrite. Huge.

DuncinToffee · 11/03/2023 17:30

Examples of replies by the BBC regarding complaints about Chris Packham and Andrew Neil

Lineker is Freelance but here's the BBC reply to a complaint about Chris Packham, also Freelance

OP I will use the link you provided to complain if the BBC let back in employees who breach impartiality clauses. So thank you OP

I will also complain if they let back in those who piggyback on the enourmous popularity the platform which we all pay for gives them and make political statements. And I know this was Twitter, but nobody would follow some 'celebrities' if the BBC did not employ them

IntheSnowySnowyMountains · 11/03/2023 18:36

Would anyone like to complain about the actual 'cancelling' of the BBC Singers and 20% staff cuts in the BBC orchestras? The whole lot combined probably costs less than Gary Lineker for a year Angry

Readers of my OP are prefectly free to complain to the BBC about anything they like.

I merely provided the link to help people with their complaints whatever they may be.

Is this for complaining about them not showing the whole David Attenborough programme on the TV?

Do you have a link for that?
Thanks op. I have at least two complaints to make.

I don’t understand all the references to Lineker being funded with taxpayers’ money. As far as I’m aware the licence fee isn’t and never has been a tax.

I think it comes hand in hand with the idea tha desperate people can somehow be illegal.

Who cares, far too much football on TV.

Who cares, far too much football on TV.

Some people are able to hold two ideas in their heads.
For example I don't like football and I don't like the silencing of someone for expressing a mild opinion unrelated to their work.

It's a shame it didn't happen a couple of weeks ago, we could have been spared all those midweek FA cup matches, I nearly complained then.

Other channels and programmes are available.

Do you think if Richard Sharp had been a Labour donor that the Tory government would have out him in charge of the BBC?

Governments - of any party - should not be making BBC directorship appointments.

Like the Labour Party with Greg Dyke?
