Is this for complaining about them not showing the whole David Attenborough programme on the TV?

smellyflowers · 11/03/2023 09:14

jgw1 · 11/03/2023 09:06

@SoupDragon Can you help me with in which way it is vague?
The title is BBC complaints, and the link and post are about how to complain to the BBC, seems pretty clear and precise to me.

I could probably have got the info from the website though

Crumpetdisappointment · 11/03/2023 09:15

oh i have just caught up with fiona bruce coment.
appalling

BashirWithTheGoodBeard · 11/03/2023 09:18

Crumpetdisappointment · 11/03/2023 09:10

yes absolutely

Mmm, and even with Gary Lineker specifically, the problem has arisen in relation to criticism of the government. When he was slagging Corbyn off, which obviously is explicitly political, the BBC were fine with that.

This quite obviously is not about the BBC requiring all staff to be politically impartial, because it doesn't.

Crumpetdisappointment · 11/03/2023 09:18

cancel your licence!

Or for refusing to broadcast the final episode of Attenborough's series on British Wildlife becuase it highlifhts the destruction of the environment by the tory party.....

This alone should be causing protests on the streets.

A corrupt BBC controlled by the Tory Party, with a Tory party puppet (who bought the position) at the helm is absolutely shameful.
A heavily right wing press is bad enough, but when the state broadcaster gives up any pretence of balance and goes the same way...

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 11/03/2023 09:21

I'm more enraged about the Fiona Bruce incident TBH. The fact that she's actually an ambassador for Refuge, a domestic abuse charity, makes it a million times worse. She should be made to stand down immediately

FlameGrilledSquirrel · 11/03/2023 09:22

Theluggage15 · 11/03/2023 08:56

You’re complaining because he breached his contract? How odd.

This seems to be something that most of are missing.

You work for the BBC you have to follow guidelines. He didn't and this is where we are.

smellyflowers · 11/03/2023 09:23

Off to read what fiona bruce has done

anythinginapinch · 11/03/2023 09:23

Thank you OP. That made life easy!

LlynTegid · 11/03/2023 09:26

I am thinking about reporting the BBC to the Equality and Human rights Commission on the grounds of victimisation of someone making a complaint alleging discrimination.

Untitledsquatboulder · 11/03/2023 09:26

Snowsurprised · 11/03/2023 08:54

The BBC and presenters should be impartial. That’s what we’re paying for.

And what does impartiality look like to you? Following the party line? And how far does this "impartiality" extend? Should everyone who works for the BBC forgo the right to independent thought and free speech? You may pay for that, I don't.

BashirWithTheGoodBeard · 11/03/2023 09:26

FlameGrilledSquirrel · 11/03/2023 09:22

Alan Sugar didn't.

smellyflowers · 11/03/2023 09:28

Fiona Bruce was just covering the BBCs ass legally? She wasn't saying ahhh it was just a one off. She was explaining the accusation and the response to the accusation?

MrsSkylerWhite · 11/03/2023 09:30

SoupDragon · Today 08:51
YABU for being ridiculously vague.“

Pretty bloody obvious.

Thanks, OP.

Apricotlemonade · 11/03/2023 09:31

Thanks op. I don’t want to pay to support the Tory party which the BBC clearly does.

Marchforward · 11/03/2023 09:33

Theluggage15 · 11/03/2023 08:56

You’re complaining because he breached his contract? How odd.

But he hasn’t. He a presenter not a journalist.

QuintanaRoo · 11/03/2023 09:35

Snowsurprised · 11/03/2023 08:54

The BBC and presenters should be impartial. That’s what we’re paying for.

Doesn’t the top bloke at the bbc donate thousands and thousands of pounds to the Tory party?

jgw1 · 11/03/2023 09:35

Againstmachine · 11/03/2023 09:10

YABU for not sticking it on the Gary linekar thread and starting a new one.

It is already on that thread. But some posters might not want to wade through all the vile comments to find it.

OP posts:
Paesano · 11/03/2023 09:38

Thanks. I used this earlier to complain about Fiona Bruce.

midgemadgemodge · 11/03/2023 09:38

There is more than the linekar story

You may also want to complain that they are not going to show one of the new Attenborough episodes because it might upset those in power when it talks about the need to protect the planet our lives survive on , to look after nature , when it talks about how much nature we have lost

Apparently it is just political

I mean no bees will make tomato rationing a fond memory of the good old days

It's not political it's science and the BBC is refusing to show it for political reasons

QuintanaRoo · 11/03/2023 09:38

Richard Sharp, also helped Boris secure an 800k loan. So actually I’d say the bbc are a pro tory biased organisation and it’s due to this impartiality that they’re coming down on Linneker. amp.theguardian.com/media/2023/jan/24/panel-approving-richard-sharp-as-bbc-chair-included-tory-party-donor

Apricotlemonade · 11/03/2023 09:39

Why are Tory donors able to work for the BBC let alone be in a position of power?

BashirWithTheGoodBeard · 11/03/2023 09:41

Apricotlemonade · 11/03/2023 09:39

Money talks. No doubt if Gary 'loans' Boris 800k they'll let him back.

QuintanaRoo · 11/03/2023 09:42

Apricotlemonade · 11/03/2023 09:39

Why are Tory donors able to work for the BBC let alone be in a position of power?

Because the Tory party were involved in the selection process.
