I feel like Mumsnet can be a bit toxic sometimes and I feel a bit uncomfortable posting anything.

People can be very judgmental in here.

Looks as though @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet has called it correctly.

Hi there. We’re a bit confused by your OP as you’ve actually started 17 threads in five weeks.

OMFG!!!!!!!!! CRYING at this! 😂😭😂😂😭

So what's your agenda here @Herthatry?

Plugging that splinter board?

Herthatry · 06/03/2023 15:19

@gamerchick here we go again. One can not even have an opinion anymore without being questioned.

OP posts:
BIWI · 06/03/2023 16:38

Depends if the opinion is genuine or not though, doesn't it?

RudsyFarmer · 06/03/2023 16:41

The only thing that scares me is it getting picked up and published elsewhere online. I don’t fancy being a story in the bloody Mail!!!!

Well exactly. If people misrepresent themselves as @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet has indicated they can't expect to be taken very seriously.

It's as old as forums. Whenever there's a bit of aggro, a splinter board is set up. Someone posts saying 'this place has gone to the dogs/you're all a pack of cunts'. Someone else posts a link to said splinter a bit further down the thread.

Seen it a million times.

Of course not.

You're free to air your own opinions; others are equally free to air theirs. If you want to share your own opinions, then you open them up to being questioned. No one is entitled to a captive audience.

That's how basic conversation, including discussion forums, work.

Incredible that it needs explaining, but here we are.

I find these threads - and some of the replies - odd. Forums aren’t an essential part of life. If you don’t like, head off and spend your time elsewhere.

But no, the whingers and moaners just cannot stay away.

Take everything on MN with a bucket of salt, especially as LTB and/or a spontaneous spa break is the answer to everything, and on the competitive, gloating self satisfied 'how much do you spend on your holidays/how many holidays do you have a year/how much do you earn posts, which are full of liars and fantasists.

But that's the internet for you, isn't it?

Contrary to all the statistics (and what you see with your own eyes IRL) everyone on internet forums is slim, exceedingly fit, earning excellent money and have a loving partner that shares all responsibilities 50/50. Or they are blissfully single, never lonely with tons of social invitations. Their homes are tastefully decorated and their children are so, so very bright and well behaved and have never even seen fast food (also they are tall, slim and very athletic). Even their (exceptionally well trained) rescue dogs have never sullied the neighbor's garden.

So a bucket of salt and a high tolerance for bullshit is generally required😀

I think that’s more threads than I’ve started in nearly a decade and half of being on MN Grin Grin

Just don’t start threads, OP. It’s not hard. Come and post on other people’s, and get your entertainment that way.
