Would you wear this out to a restaurant? Wearing nothing underneath but nipple covers and thong?

just to be clear…this is an open all day brunch/lunch then tapas burgers kinda place. family friendly, kids menu crayons ect. Not an evening or drinks venue.

I was completely taken a back as to why anyone would think it’s appropriate to wear that to a kid friendly restaurant

couldn’t find a link to the actual dress but it’s very similar to this Kylie Jenner one.

AIBU here?!

detail missing incase it’s outing!

I wouldn't wear it but couldn't get myself worked up if someone else did.

Starlightgreen · 22/02/2023 21:08

An ‘influencer’ I follow on Instagram wore this outfit in london recently. I’m curious to know if it’s the same person!

theycallmestacie · 22/02/2023 21:08

I wouldn't, but it wouldn't bother me if someone did. Stop policing what women wear. YABU.

This.

feliciabirthgiver · 22/02/2023 21:10

Etc.

Butterflyhelp · 22/02/2023 21:10

Well I wouldn't want to be her but if she does that's fine by me.

threeplusmum · 22/02/2023 21:10

Looks very tacky tbh. I know a certain 'friend' who would love that 'dress' lol

OldTinHat · 22/02/2023 21:10

I would have done 30yrs ago. Not now though, the nipple covers would be scraping along the pavement behind me followed by my arse cheeks.

Exactly this. It's just a body and we all have one of those in one shape or form.

WinterMusings · 22/02/2023 21:12

You'll all be pleased to know I wouldn't wear it anywhere!

But if I had the body and the nerve, it certainly wouldn't be to a family venue.

IDontWantToBeAPie · 22/02/2023 21:12

I wouldn't but I'm not a celebrity. Pretty sure the restaurant doesn't care what she wears bc so many people will likely now go to it because she went there.

Plus, it's California. Nobody blinks there when celebs wear something weird especially a Jenner

WombatsAndGumTrees · 22/02/2023 21:13

I'd just think the person wearing it was attention seeking. I can't see that being flattering on any body.

Seriously? Policing women? I'm all for women doing what they want BUT nipple covers and thong during the day in a restaurant with children and families? Totally inappropriate. Why sexualise everything all the time? And I'd say exactly the same if it was a man/ non-binary person. I don't want to see your arse/ chest over my lasagne and sticky toffee pudding.

Do what the hell you like in a bar/ club/ night-time.

I'm not cool enough to think it's okay.

dudsville · 22/02/2023 21:14

Yes and no. Its not my thing, no one in my day to day life dresses that way so i would find it hard to ignore, though i would, politely. However, i think this kind of thing is trending at the moment, and all the scifi and dystopian novels predict this kind of style of dress so i expect there will be more of it.

Emmamoo89 · 22/02/2023 21:14

I wouldn't wear it

Don't look then. You don't have to be cool - I'm certainly not.

"Wont somebody PLEASE think of the children!!" 😂

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 22/02/2023 21:19

I would just think they're an attention seeker. Wouldn't take much notice and I wouldn't care about it.

userxx · 22/02/2023 21:19

Perfect for my peri menopausal body, absolutely no overheating going on in that dress. Where can I buy it ?

FoxtrotSkarloey · 22/02/2023 21:19

Each to their own. But it's not overly helpful when I'm trying to teach my four year old that privates are private and no one should see his pants. That's why I would get annoyed in a family setting.

Banchory · 22/02/2023 21:20

Wouldn’t bother me but I do wonder why some people think they look good in clothes that focus on their genital areas. It doesn’t enhance the figure, it doesn’t add colour or nuance. Looks silly really.

RealBecca · 22/02/2023 21:21

Why sexualise her though? At all. Yes its objectively tacky but leave her alone. We all wore terrible clothes as teens. Its just bad fashion. Even if you could see her vagina and breasts, so what? Dont your kids ever see yours? Surely it's not that shocking to anyone what is under the net?? Yes dear, it's a vagina.

We all get exposed to studd we dont want to see every day. Snag tights adverts come to mind.

Chill out.

RealBecca · 22/02/2023 21:17

"Wont somebody PLEASE think of the children!!" 😂

I can just see some four year old tactlessly exclaiming, "That lady is in her underwear!" very loudly.

Apart from celebrity culture and events, I think it's a weird thing to wear in public. I think it says a lot about the person wearing it, mostly about an attention seeking nature and attempting to shock.

MarchingBand · 22/02/2023 21:25

I personally wouldn't wear it but it wouldn't bother me if somebody did. Each to their own.
