Would you wear this out to a restaurant? Wearing nothing underneath but nipple covers and thong?

just to be clear…this is an open all day brunch/lunch then tapas burgers kinda place. family friendly, kids menu crayons ect. Not an evening or drinks venue.

I was completely taken a back as to why anyone would think it’s appropriate to wear that to a kid friendly restaurant

couldn’t find a link to the actual dress but it’s very similar to this Kylie Jenner one.

AIBU here?!

detail missing incase it’s outing!

I think you’re being unreasonable, and judgemental to boot. Who cares what someone else is wearing? They aren’t judging you for your outfit so why are you judging them for theirs?

Choconut · 23/02/2023 21:22

I'd like to say that I've never worn anything worse.......
Fortunately those days are far behind me and i wouldn't dream of wearing something like that to a family restaurant now.

solisetlunae · 23/02/2023 22:21

As a Californian, I don't understand the issue here.

Inkpotlover · 23/02/2023 22:36

I've just tracked the image down on a picture agency website and it was taken on December 20 last year IN THE EVENING and KJ was snapped after having dinner at a high-end Japanese restaurant that is NOT kid friendly (no child menu to be seen), so OP has completely misrepresented this to get people frothing.

The OP clearly said in her first post

The woman the OP saw was wearing nipple covers rather than a bra.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 23/02/2023 22:54

Did she have her price list on the back?

ChellyT · 23/02/2023 23:08

MithrilCostsMore · 22/02/2023 21:08

I wouldn't wear it but couldn't get myself worked up if someone else did.

Agree! We're all wrapped up with what everyone else is doing, wearing, drinking, sleeping with blah blah blah like we have or should have some sway on other's when we don't, when we shouldn't.

Live your life!

ChellyT · 23/02/2023 23:11

theycallmestacie · 22/02/2023 21:08

I wouldn't, but it wouldn't bother me if someone did. Stop policing what women wear. YABU.

Thank you!

MeowMeowBeenz · 24/02/2023 00:12

Wow the OP dropped a proper grenade here and then fucked off didn't they?

Well according to some it doesn't matter even if it is high end and not for kids, kids should still be allowed because they have to be allowed anywhere and everywhere 🙄🤭🤯 and of course they need to learn how to eat at high end restaurants even if they are toddlers 🤨🤣

Mummyoflittledragon · 24/02/2023 04:24

Anne Hathaway is clearly wearing a nude one piece / bodysuit underneath the dress to ensue she’s suitably covered for a glamorous evening event… she’s on the red carpet, not at a local child friendly eatery wearing nipple covers and a thong.

Ah, I thought she was slagging off Kylie Jenner in the dress, I misread the OP!

Zocola · 24/02/2023 06:55

Lmfao..love your description..

IDontWantToBeAPie · 22/02/2023 21:12

I wouldn't but I'm not a celebrity. Pretty sure the restaurant doesn't care what she wears bc so many people will likely now go to it because she went there.

Plus, it's California. Nobody blinks there when celebs wear something weird especially a Jenner

OP was not talking about a celeb but some random woman turning up to a restaurant over here.

KarenandFour · 24/02/2023 11:05

I’d probably laugh and think wtf

MrsSkylerWhite · 24/02/2023 11:07

No I wouldn’t because I think it’s horrible.
Not really my business. I see people in inappropriate stuff all the time. It’s not illegal, if distasteful 🤷‍♀️

SlouchingTowardsBethlehemAgain · 24/02/2023 11:30

Why worry about what someone else is wearing? It won't jump off her body and on to yours.

SerafinasGoose · 24/02/2023 11:38

This thread reminds me of my Dad. 'You are NOT going out dressed in that!'

Ah, the nostalgia ...

"Where's the rest of it?"

"Put some jam on your socks, invite your leggings down to tea!"
Whatevs 🙄🤣
Those were the days lol

countrygirl99 · 24/02/2023 13:33

@RedAndBlueStripedGolfingUmbrella you missed "are you going to wear a skirt with that belt"

WalkingOnTheCracks · 24/02/2023 13:35

“That’s a nice dress you’re nearly wearing.”

Konfetka · 24/02/2023 13:41

"You'll catch your death."

Whatever happened to season-appropriate dressing?

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 23/02/2023 00:18

No, it's a bit much. But ... you were at a restaurant, so maybe it's your kids that shouldn't have been there? This is the problem when you want to take kids to adult settings and then adults have to adjust their behaviour because kids are around

Eh? Loads of restaurants are specifically designed (and advertised) to be family-friendly - many have kids' menus, crayons and colouring sheets and offer the use of high chairs. McDonalds calls itself a restaurant, for goodness' sake!

And the OP specifically said it was this kind of restaurant. I quote her below

just to be clear…this is an open all day brunch/lunch then tapas burgers kinda place. family friendly, kids menu crayons ect. Not an evening or drinks venue.

JosieJasper · 24/02/2023 15:01

This type of dress is not about fashion, it’s about attracting attention from guys and beating off the competition. Which is great for the bar/club in the evening and fantastic for those who have the figure to carry it off. My only concern is that the type of woman wearing it is probably the same type of woman that would call out a guy for merely glancing in her direction if he wasn’t someone they are interested in (i.e he wasn’t rich and good looking). To all those saying it’s perfectly ok for family dining…I assume you also see it as an acceptable outfit for a guest at your wedding? 🤔

limitedperiodonly · 24/02/2023 16:35

I can answer yes and no to that one @JosieJasper because I said it was being worn in a restaurant not a church.

I've worn similar things - not quite the same but dresses that get some other women's knickers in a twist. I never objected to anyone looking - rich or poor, pretty or plain. The point of it is to make people look so it's pointless to object when people do. Touching is a different matter but then it's never right to touch someone however they are dressed unless they ask you to, is it?

Though admirable, your concern for the feelings of poor guys glancing at that kind of woman is not necessary. We all have to get used to rejection and if you wear that kind of dress other women's feelings tend not to concern you.
