Would you wear this out to a restaurant? Wearing nothing underneath but nipple covers and thong?

just to be clear…this is an open all day brunch/lunch then tapas burgers kinda place. family friendly, kids menu crayons ect. Not an evening or drinks venue.

I was completely taken a back as to why anyone would think it’s appropriate to wear that to a kid friendly restaurant

couldn’t find a link to the actual dress but it’s very similar to this Kylie Jenner one.

AIBU here?!

detail missing incase it’s outing!

I would just think "what an attention seeker" and then get on with my food!

Oigetoffmylawn · 22/02/2023 21:44

Meh. I couldn't get worked up over this.

Mummy, I can see that ladies knickers.
Yes sweety you can, but it's not polite to comment on others clothes or bodies.

TirisfalPumpkin · 22/02/2023 21:45

It’s underwear, not outerwear, but I think enough is covered not to violate any public decency laws.

Eee she’ll catch er death though.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 22/02/2023 21:45

I'm cool enough to be able to unashamedly say - good grief, no! That is not suitable for anyone to wear in a family-oriented venue where little kids go. I'm surprised she wasn't told to leave.

feellikeanalien · 22/02/2023 21:45

If she was wearing it to brunch I would think she was probably an attention seeker or hadn't gone home after a night out. And also that she might be a bit cold!

LikeGolddust · 22/02/2023 21:47

Completely inappropriate in a daytime setting in a public environment.
Why are so many people in such a rush to get rid of any expectation of community standards?

I wouldn’t want to see a man in hot pants and nipple covers in such a setting either.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 22/02/2023 21:47

Hard disagree in this case. Children should be encouraged to express their discomfort when someone basically exposes themself to them, not told to hush and accept it.

Agree. Totally mad.

Blueink · 22/02/2023 21:49

i wouldn’t wear it, no, but don’t think kids will be paying any attention or judging and neither would I.

Elvira2000 · 22/02/2023 21:49

No. Completely inappropriate.

Bigmummaof2 · 22/02/2023 21:50

Good for them for having the confidence to wear it! Wouldn’t bother me.

Guavafish1 · 22/02/2023 21:51

I think in real life its not as see through... the camera flash makes it more underwear showing

Eyerollcentral · 22/02/2023 21:51

Blueink · 22/02/2023 21:49

With a thong under it, of course children would! As soon as she stood up there would be hysterical cries of I CAN SEE THAT LADY’S BUM!!! I wonder if people on this thread have met young children

IntentionalError · 22/02/2023 21:52

The world will be relieved to hear that no, I wouldn’t wear a dress like that. But if someone else, much younger than me, has both the body and the confidence to wear it, then good for her.

saraclara · 22/02/2023 21:53

I'm sick of the bloody MN 'We need to support women in every situation ' and 'It's just a body'. Newsflash- women get shit wrong, I don't need to support them in what I think is wrong just because they're a woman.

👏

Nice grenade. Got the masses frothing over something that certainly happened

BadNomad · 22/02/2023 21:55

Is it meant to be torn at the knees?

TangledWebOfDeception · 22/02/2023 21:56

theycallmestacie · 22/02/2023 21:16

Don't look then. You don't have to be cool - I'm certainly not.

‘Don’t look then’? Really?? Do you listen to yourself?!

It’s not a child’s fault if breasts/bum/penis/etc are shoved in their face/space.

VerveClique · 22/02/2023 21:56

Mainly I’d think she’d be freezing!

But yes, not appropriate. If it’d be Inappropriate to do the activity in your pyjamas (it would), then it’s ok to have a view about the attire of choice. So I’d say it’s inappropriate because it’s excessively revealing.

Put it away love.

TangledWebOfDeception · 22/02/2023 21:58

And I might’ve worn a dress like that some years ago. To a club or (adults’) party! I’ve not got a problem with it per se.

OnAPostItNote · 22/02/2023 21:59

This is funny

Yes!

Puffalicious · 22/02/2023 22:01

Notice the poster who said it was okay to show your vagina hasn't answered whether they'd be okay if it was a penis in mesh.

Grumpybutfunny · 22/02/2023 22:01

At 18 yes not a problem, now at 32 post c section nope despite a lot of work I don't have the figure for it. To me it looks like a swimwear cover up so if DS asked questions I'd just say she a bit silly wearing her bikini to the restaurant in February. Now to go look for it to wear around the pool in November.

VerveClique · 22/02/2023 22:01

It’s sexualised. Which is why it’s not ok.
