Caffe Nero

I visited a Caffe Nero today and was surprised about the amount of dogs in there.
It was a fairly small cafe probably around 15 tables/seating areas. There were 8 dogs, 4 of which were on the chairs/sofa and one that seemed to be getting under everyones feet when they passed.
I think it is really unhygienic for a place that sells food to be allowing dogs to sit on the chairs.

I didn't know dogs were allowed in Caffe Nero! This is bad news for me as my youngest is terrified of dogs but she loves caffe nero, hope the one in our town doesn't start getting dogs in. She probably wouldn't mind a really big, docile one on the floor but I don't think dogs should be allowed on chairs anyway I agree it's really unhygienic.

It's good to have dog friendly cafes and restaurants, I just hope some dog owners can be more responsible and respectful of others.

Dogs definitely should not be on the chairs...

I am probably biased against this idea though as I find dogs frightening, I just cannot relax around them at all. I know the vast majority are most likely absolutely lovely, I just can't cope with them.

I don't think the chairs are used to put the food on so you should be okay on the hygiene front?

There are dogs EVERYWHERE at the moment! All the cafes I visit seem to have them. Absolutely hate it. I don’t understand why it’s acceptable

Yanbu, we go to Costa even though I prefer Nero for this very reason.

I would have left if that was the case. Unless they are assistance dogs, I have no desire to sit in a cafe full of them.

We have a small one in town and a couple of weeks ago an enormous dog was sprawled over about 3 of the seats. We left and went to Costa.

As long as dogs are properly controlled and not allowed on chairs or tables I am ok with it. Have you seen the mess some people let their kids make in coffee shops?

All those saying dogs are gross and unhygienic, would you not eat at someone’s home either if they have dogs? I have two dogs and my house is perfectly clean and I don’t rub my groceries on my dogs bums or let them lick the food. Animals aren’t gross, a lot of humans are though.

Tell me about it. Neros is my second home. There are loads of dogs in there now. There is a regular dog, who is well behaved but enormous. And there is t really space for him.

Caffè Nero are dog friendly and allow dogs in. I don’t go there anymore

I don't take my wee dog to coffee shops. I adore him more than anything, but he's not well-behaved enough. At least we know our limitations though!

I’m not massively bothered by the hygiene element of it but I do find it annoying - they get in the way, sometimes bark, come sniffing around you etc…

I can’t imagine it’s much fun for the dog either, tbh.
