To think we're blatantly being trolled....

Lee Anderson being appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Tory Party.

I'm genuinely disturbed by what on earth the government is doing....Is anyone seriously worried at what the hell is going on?

Apologies if this is a dupe post, couldn't see anything here or on the politics board.

I agree we are being blatantly trolled. We have been since Johnson took office. He, Truss and Sunak are all utterly incompetent as politicians and humans. , Therefore they could not/cannot afford to appoint anyone who has competence greater than there's i.e. the vast majority of people.

They scrape the bottom of a very dirty barrel to find people even less able and/or scupulous than themselves. That results in the likes of Shaps, Braverman, Zahawi, Badenoch, Coffey, Williamson, Raab, Patel, Fraser, Jack et al being handed positions of authority/power.

I've been a lifelong lefty, and even I think fondly of the likes of Major, Clarke, Heseltine etc., I'd say even Cameron and Osborne didn't seem so greedy, corrupt and delusional, in comparison to the power-crazed, greedy, deluded fuckwits currently fucking us over.

We are being trolled by not only those in power, but also those who vote them into power.

He’s been appointed to keep the Northern Brexity types onside and hold onto the red wall. They don’t care that he’s abhorrent. This is after all a man who claimed 30p a day was enough for food, while he claimed £230,000 in expenses in one year.

This thread reminded me of what a certain Ms Amber Rudd recently said. (Someone who resigned when one of her senior civil servants screwed up so she lied to a select committee. Maybe she should have just bullied them instead.)

The only criteria for a Cabinet post is to believe or pretend to believe in Brexit, stands to reason you’re not going to get the finest minds.

He’s been placed there to shout random distractions about ‘woke’ stuff to keep red wall Brexiters happy whilst the country continues to slide downwards.

Expect him to yell offensive stuff about people on benefits, Albanians, Nicola Sturgeon etc every time the Tories need a ‘Twitter war’ to distract from news on the latest economic downgrade.

I wish it was only the people who continue to support these clowns who suffered.
