To think we're blatantly being trolled....

Lee Anderson being appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Tory Party.

I'm genuinely disturbed by what on earth the government is doing....Is anyone seriously worried at what the hell is going on?

Apologies if this is a dupe post, couldn't see anything here or on the politics board.

Have you read the list of the charming things Lee Anderson has done? I think cunt is a fairly light description. Coming on here to tell everyone to have their bedtime milk because they don’t agree with your politics is childish at best. If you have a political point, make it.

I agree we are being blatantly trolled. We have been since Johnson took office. He, Truss and Sunak are all utterly incompetent as politicians and humans. , Therefore they could not/cannot afford to appoint anyone who has competence greater than there's i.e. the vast majority of people.

They scrape the bottom of a very dirty barrel to find people even less able and/or scupulous than themselves. That results in the likes of Shaps, Braverman, Zahawi, Badenoch, Coffey, Williamson, Raab, Patel, Fraser, Jack et al being handed positions of authority/power.

I've been a lifelong lefty, and even I think fondly of the likes of Major, Clarke, Heseltine etc., I'd say even Cameron and Osborne didn't seem so greedy, corrupt and delusional, in comparison to the power-crazed, greedy, deluded fuckwits currently fucking us over.

We are being trolled by not only those in power, but also those who vote them into power.

This. People we used to think of as villains, look like competent people at least trying to govern in a decent way in retrospect.

This lot have, as a PP put it, stopped scraping the barrel but drilled through the bottom.

It would be impossible to have kept abreast of the news the last few months without being aware of all the evidence of his lying and bigotry. Unless, of course, you've been closing your eyes and sticking your fingers in your ears every time a report about him turned up.

Brexit has become the hill the Tories want to die on and it’s horrific - it’s so very obvious the whole thing has been an unmitigated disaster but they can’t say that so they have to bring out ever more desperately awful people to speak out for it as so many others refuse to go on record to support the most destructive policy most of us have seen in our lifetime.

Those using the word bigot to describe critics of Anderson clearly do not know what bigot means.

At least he's only chairman of the Tory party, not a job that matters to the rest of us. I'm fairly happy to have a nasty shyster doing that job. I'm just baffled that he was in the Labour Party for so long.

Well this is a brilliant summary… sadly those who don’t want to see it will keep pretending to not understand why so many think he’s absolutely unsuitable for politics. He is vicious.

There was also the twitter post about one of his staff members managing to live in London and save/have holidays on £27k… and all the other drama that went along with that.

I don’t ever expect everyone to be completely in line with my politics, but JFC. Why so many can be so flippant of this man holding such a prominent position horrifies me.
