Feels Meghan has done to him to justify the vitriol and misogyny of that article he wrote where he’d like to see her naked and assaulted?

I mean WTF? How in earth did a major publication think that it was fine to publish his little sexual fantasy about hurting a woman like that?

I’m no fan of the Royals in any form, and could care less about their infighting, but why are we surprised that there is so much violence against women and girls when this kind of article by an influential man is seen as okay to write?
Where’s his description of a naked, vulnerable Harry being assaulted??

I normally love JC but this was disgusting. I was appalled by it and he needs to apologise and make amends. Not sure how he can but he needs to as he has such a wide reaching audience and this was so vile.

Em clarkson has put a statement up on Instagram saying she regularly calls out anyone bullying others in the press and she doesn’t agree at all with what her dad has said. I feel really sorry for her too!

Either way, revolting and revolting to think it was OK to publish this. I hope they take him to court.

YANBU. The whole piece is pure misogyny.

I couldn't believe what I was reading. Now I understand it's a Game of Thrones reference which at least gives some context but I don't think that changes anything - the imagery and sentiment are so utterly vile.

And obviously pure coincidence that Clarkson was out socialising earlier this week with Camilla and that other fair minded tabloid hack Piers Morgan.

Yes, he described how he lies awake at night fantasising about that famous scene of degradation, humiliation and assault from a fictional show happening in real life to a real woman. The fact it's from Game of Thrones isn't mitigation in any way.

Imagine your own daughter feeling like she has to publicly speak out against you because of your absolute vile misogyny ?

In fact imagine having a daughter, and saying these things in the first place about another young woman.

I just don’t understand why no editor said, hold on a minute… so they not have women on their staff? Is Clarkson so powerful that he can now say whatever he feels and get paid for it?
He makes too much money for them, I suppose. Just like Harvey Weinstein did for all those around him who ignored his behaviour for years because he was powerful and making money for everyone around him.

I think the misogyny passed them all by though. He thought it was a funny way to say 'I can't stand Meghan', by mentioning other people he dislikes and comparing her with Cerce in GoT.

It could even be an attempt to draw attention to how unreasonable everyone else's hyperbole is about Meghan.

It was quite possibly subconscious (though telling) that all three people referenced were women.

Even with the best possible interpretation of his motives, it's a disgusting piece of writing and they should all be ashamed. The ubiquity of violence against women makes it harder to spot, and even more important that they do.

What is it that brings out such vitriol in older men about strong opinionated women? Even if you dislike her for her personality, she's not done anything wrong that deserves this level of hatred.

It’s so depressing. The constant threat of violence against women and girls seems so accepted that this kind of thing can be printed, with absolutely no come back whatsoever.

Its a very odd thing for him to say. I usually like JC's bluntness, but this is so wrong.
The actress from GOT said she even found filming that scene very traumatic and upsetting. The producers of these shows need to stop abusing women for titillation and entertainment.

Reports of this have been everywhere and widely condemned in social media so drop the fake wide eyed innocence demanding a link. If you support such sick fantasies then you are no better than Clarkson.
