To ask what exactly Clarkson

Feels Meghan has done to him to justify the vitriol and misogyny of that article he wrote where he’d like to see her naked and assaulted?

I mean WTF? How in earth did a major publication think that it was fine to publish his little sexual fantasy about hurting a woman like that?

I’m no fan of the Royals in any form, and could care less about their infighting, but why are we surprised that there is so much violence against women and girls when this kind of article by an influential man is seen as okay to write?
Where’s his description of a naked, vulnerable Harry being assaulted??

This could be William's children in the future if they ever decide to leave the RF.

The silence is deafening.

As is the silence from Morgan and Clarkson - Morgan being someone who has been prominent on his attacks on Megan

I normally love JC but this was disgusting. I was appalled by it and he needs to apologise and make amends. Not sure how he can but he needs to as he has such a wide reaching audience and this was so vile.

JC is an arse. Always has been, always will be.

ToastingToes · 19/12/2022 09:37

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 19/12/2022 09:34

Yes OK but where is the line between opinion and hate speech? Or opinion and incitement to violence?

I think this is a very pressing concern these days - it's what the January 6th inquiry in the US has been asking too.

Where was the hate speech of the incitement of violence?
He didn't incite anyone to do anything.

WatchoRulo · 19/12/2022 09:38

Brand Clarkson has been damaged.
No it hasn't - he is doing what he has always done.
The Sun will be loving this.
His "brand" is being a nasty cunt - he keeps doing it.

TheKeatingFive · 19/12/2022 09:38

He's not inciting anyone to do anything, he said what he would like to see.

So he'd like to see a woman he's never met, who has committed no crime, to be marched naked on the streets so he can fling shit at her.

And you don't see any issue with this kind of behaviour, seeing it as his 'opinion'

Jesus, the dregs of society are making their presence felt on here.

gawditswindy · 19/12/2022 09:24

Nicola Sturgeon was the other one detailed in his article. He equated Nicola Sturgeon and Meghan Markle with Rose West - a serial killer. Like her or not, Nicola Sturgeon does not deserve that. JC just hates women.

Sturgeon is trying to push through legislation that will leave women and girls very vulnerable, though, and take away a lot of the freedom of Orthodox Jewish, Muslim, Rastafarian women who are forbidden to share many spaces with men.

She may not kill women, but she is limiting lives and leaving them open to assault.

TheKeatingFive · 19/12/2022 09:39

I'm no fan of Sturgeon, but absolutely unacceptable to reference her in those terms also.

ToastingToes · 19/12/2022 09:37

Where was the hate speech of the incitement of violence?
He didn't incite anyone to do anything.

Did you not read the article? Or are you not clear what hate speech actually is?

LemonTT · 19/12/2022 09:39

Crazykatie · 19/12/2022 09:29

MM could have married her prince and lived quietly in luxury, even if she didn’t get on with his family they could still have moved away, she did not need to be a crusader an attention seeker, that’s all it is the need to be noticed.
The way that H&M have deliberately, systematically reviled his family is unforgivable, if any of us had children that had done that they would be excluded totally.

Clarkson was over the top, M has made herself a hate figure and may of us male and female dislike her.

I thought the days when women are told to speak out were over. The Palace were fine with Andrew doing it, gave him the thumbs up…… Now they shelter him.

She was treated badly by the press. It was blatant misogyny and racism. From bastions of racism anD misogyny. It should have been condemned. She married a man with a family who put their business or firm before welfare. They always have. From Margaret to Charles to Diana and now Harry, all had their happiness and purpose stripped away.

Wishihadanalgorithm · 19/12/2022 09:40

All I can think now is how the palace have proven themselves to be supporters of racism and misogyny by refusing to issue a statement condemning Clarkson’s vile wet dream.

Surely even the people who don’t like MM (why? What has she ever done to anyone on a personal level?) can see why she and Harry moved to America and speak out against the RF and it’s lack of protection for her.

I despair that such hate speech is allowed to be published - even in the Sun.

astarsheis · 19/12/2022 09:40

Scumbag...never liked him and won't have anything on in house with him in

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 19/12/2022 09:40

It really is a horrific piece of writing. Camilla and the RF must distance themselves from it asap. it's obvious what h&m complained about is very true and very real. I signed a petition about it last night and wasn't to write to someone but who?

gawditswindy · 19/12/2022 09:42

So why does he want to throw shit at Meghan's naked body and not Harry's? He's the royal. He's the one that people seem to believe 'owes' them something. Why is it always the woman?

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 19/12/2022 09:42

AntennaReborn · 19/12/2022 08:52

Who are the 9% who this OP is BU ???

Have you seen some of the MM threads? It's clear that a minority of the general public would thoroughly approve of what JC said and cheer him on. It's disgusting.

PrinceHaz · 19/12/2022 09:43

FrostyFifi · 19/12/2022 08:26

I thought he was describing that Game of Thrones scene.

So what if he was using hyperbole. His intention was clicks, dog whistling and money. He’s set off swarms and swarms of racists. You should see Tik Tok where people feel the most free to air their prejudices and cruelties. They’re saying the most vile things about MM as a result of this article.

cakeorwine · 19/12/2022 09:43

WatchoRulo · 19/12/2022 09:38

Brand Clarkson has been damaged.
No it hasn't - he is doing what he has always done.
The Sun will be loving this.
His "brand" is being a nasty cunt - he keeps doing it.

With Clarkson's farm, he showed a different side to himself.

But then he goes and does this.

I can't understand the mind of someone who thinks these thoughts, ,let alone expresses them.

Maybe he can't see the issue. I hope someone interviews him and challenges him about it. Someone who he respects.

It's good to see him being called out. But he needs to be called out by someone he respects. His colleagues seem quiet on this. I wonder what May and Hammond think.

TheShellBeach · 19/12/2022 09:46

Why isn't this in the RF board?

cakeorwine · 19/12/2022 09:48

TheShellBeach · 19/12/2022 09:46

Why isn't this in the RF board?

Because it's about Clarkson, social media, VAWG, mysogyny and a debate about 'freedom of speech'.

Not just the RF

LemonTT · 19/12/2022 09:48

TheShellBeach · 19/12/2022 09:46

Why isn't this in the RF board?

Because it’s about Jeremy Clarkeson not the victims of his graphic hate statements

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 19/12/2022 09:49

ToastingToes · 19/12/2022 09:34

He's not inciting anyone to do anything, he said what he would like to see.

What would he say, then, if someone did attempt to harm her subsequent to this article. 'I wasn't goading anyone on, I was just writing what I'd like to see'.

It doesn't sound a particularly good defence.

CocoC · 19/12/2022 09:50

I can't stand Meghan, think she is a self indulgent, narcissitic trouble maker fuelled by jealousy of William & Kate, who did everything to get back in control.

However, I think the JC comments are totally unacceptable about ANY woman, as they are deeply misogynistic and disturbing, and show a real underlying desire to see a woman humiliated - I hope his head rolls, and especially those of the editors who printed this.

However, I also find it very annoying to read people on this thread who refer to this as being 'racism' - this has nothing to do with racism, and everything do to with misogyny. Don't confuse the two! This is also what makes people like Meghan so annoying to others, the fact that things are pinned on 'racism' when it's something else, which might be rudeness or unkindness, or even a kind of Xenophobia (about people who are not British) but not necessarily racism.

CaptainMyCaptain · 19/12/2022 09:52

Sartre · 19/12/2022 08:37

He’s justifying everything Harry and Meghan have said about the media and completely vindicating them.

That's the irony of it. I hope he realises this. I also hope that he is never employed for TV, Amazon Prime or Netflix again and not a word of his is ever published again. I'm sure he can retire comfortably on what he already has.

JanetheObscure · 19/12/2022 09:52

Apart from the sheer awfulness of the piece, it’s interesting that Clarkson went to a lunch hosted and (presumably) paid for by Camilla one day and then wrote in the most abhorrent terms about her step DIL very soon afterwards.

I don’t suppose that most of us would even very mildly slag off a family member of our lunch host in a national newspaper a day or so later. Let alone use language like that (he will no doubt argue that he was being satirical, but I will argue that he is an arsehole).

I thought that I liked Camilla. But the inference must be that Clarkson didn’t think she would mind 🤷🏻‍♀️.

HerReputationMadeItDifficultToProceed · 19/12/2022 09:53

A lot of men really hate women. This is absolutely horrible but not surprising, sadly.
