To ask what exactly Clarkson

Feels Meghan has done to him to justify the vitriol and misogyny of that article he wrote where he’d like to see her naked and assaulted?

I mean WTF? How in earth did a major publication think that it was fine to publish his little sexual fantasy about hurting a woman like that?

I’m no fan of the Royals in any form, and could care less about their infighting, but why are we surprised that there is so much violence against women and girls when this kind of article by an influential man is seen as okay to write?
Where’s his description of a naked, vulnerable Harry being assaulted??

OP posts:
gawditswindy · 19/12/2022 09:24

Nicola Sturgeon was the other one detailed in his article. He equated Nicola Sturgeon and Meghan Markle with Rose West - a serial killer. Like her or not, Nicola Sturgeon does not deserve that. JC just hates women.

Thepeopleversuswork · 19/12/2022 09:24

Clarkson has form for this sort of thing. I'm not sure why people are surprised at this?

AcerbicColleague · 19/12/2022 09:24

I feel as though the Daily Mail (yes I know JC was in The Sun) has mobilised the misogyny and racism of Britain through its anti-Meghan campaign. It has been so successful that now (some) people think it's ok to publish their violent fantasies in mainstream media.

To be honest, I don't think it's anything to do with MM, it's about the desperation of older white men to stay relevant in a world that no longer revolves around them exclusively. MM symbolises everything they fear - women, people of colour, non-Brits, people who challenge the narrative...

He's as entitled to his opinion as anyone else.

It's one thing to have an opinion, quite another to share that opinion with 1000's of others when it's so obviously full of hate and bile. Even MN will remove offensive posts, despite those posts just being someone else's "opinion".

You are "not sure why people are surprised"? I would suggest that people are shocked rather than surprised that a mainstream publication feels comfortable in peddling such overt hate speech rather than "surprised" that Jeremy Clarkson continues to be a fuckwit.

As is their right, just as he has a right to share his opinion.

IClaudine · 19/12/2022 09:29

Saying he hates MM is "opinion". Writing a sick fantasy scene which involves MM being degraded and assaulted is not "opinion".

If BP don't issue some sort of statement very soon, then it is basically condoning Clakson.

Billslills · 19/12/2022 09:29

Now is the time for the Palace to finally stand up and protect Meghan. It could be the turning point for this horrific hatred campaign against her to end. The continuous hatred towards her is disgusting. It has been going for years and it is not okay.

Crazykatie · 19/12/2022 09:29

MM could have married her prince and lived quietly in luxury, even if she didn’t get on with his family they could still have moved away, she did not need to be a crusader an attention seeker, that’s all it is the need to be noticed.
The way that H&M have deliberately, systematically reviled his family is unforgivable, if any of us had children that had done that they would be excluded totally.

Clarkson was over the top, M has made herself a hate figure and may of us male and female dislike her.

cakeorwine · 19/12/2022 09:30

ToastingToes · 19/12/2022 09:27

As is their right, just as he has a right to share his opinion.

If 'your opinion' (ie Clarksons) is that you hate someone so much that you visualise them being stripped naked and having shit thrown at them and you then write this opinion in a national newspaper - then you need to take a good look at yourself.

Exactly. This could also actually be a way of beginning to heal the rift.

doubleshotcappuccino · 19/12/2022 09:31

Coincidence that he had lunch with Camilla only last week ? So glad there is a post on this .. just read it and can't quite believe he wrote this .. as a father of a daughter he must know he is feeding hate...

Bluevelvetsofa · 19/12/2022 09:32

Clarkson is vile. He’s always been a misogynist, but he took it to a new level. Piers Morgan is the same.

The lunch was not hosted by Camilla. She was a guest.

TheKeatingFive · 19/12/2022 09:32

He's as entitled to his opinion as anyone else.

Incitement to violence is not simply 'having an opinion'. Disgusting that you think it is.

@00100001

‘“Meghan is... a different story. I hate her on a cellular level. At night, I’m unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, ‘Shame!’ and throw lumps of excrement at her.”

There’s more, Rose West is also mentioned, but apparently JC hates this woman more than Rose West, the child rapist/murderer.

"In a column for The Sun, Clarkson said: 'I hate her. Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level."

I'm not sure what he even means by that.

TheKeatingFive · 19/12/2022 09:33

Now is the time for the Palace to finally stand up and protect Meghan

They won't though. They're afraid of press retaliation.

TheKeatingFive · 19/12/2022 09:33

I'm not sure what he even means by that.

He did expand

ILoveeCakes · 19/12/2022 09:34

He's getting a good harvest of Rage Clicks from you all though, isn't he? Unfortunately, that's what it's all about these days. Which is why I read none of this stuff. I read about my hobbies instead

Virginiaplain · 19/12/2022 09:34

Ha - so Camilla must be punished for Clarksons misogyny - eeerm isn’t that more misogyny

He really said this?

He's disgusting!

I don't particularly like Meghan, and have no respect for either her not Harry, but this is a different level of vindictiveness.

I've always thought he was a vile man* and this just confirms my opinion.

*However he doesn't loom large enough in my thoughts that I lie awake at night thinking of ways to torture, humiliate and degrade him. He isn't worth the energy or headspace. Did he try it on with her, and she knocked him back or something?

Snowyy · 19/12/2022 09:34

It is hyperbole. Famous people often say offensive stuff, like Margoyles hoping Johnson died of covid and Jo Brand suggesting someone throw acid at Farage.

It isn't ok but how does Margoyles get indulgent pats on the head when she says her crap yet JC has so many outraged? It reads to me like he is mocking the extreme response to Meghan. I think his tongue was firmly in his cheek.

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 19/12/2022 09:34

ToastingToes · 19/12/2022 09:19

He's still entitled to his opinion and entitled to share it.
You don't have to like it or agree with it, but he's still entitled to it.

Yes OK but where is the line between opinion and hate speech? Or opinion and incitement to violence?

I think this is a very pressing concern these days - it's what the January 6th inquiry in the US has been asking too.

ToastingToes · 19/12/2022 09:34

Sartre · 19/12/2022 08:37

He’s justifying everything Harry and Meghan have said about the media and completely vindicating them.

this

TheKeatingFive · 19/12/2022 09:35

M has made herself a hate figure

Perhaps you could expand on what she's done to merit total strangers fantasising about flinging shit at her naked body?
