Can’t stop crying - our cat has been killed just before Christmas

Not that there is any good time to be hit by a car and lay overnight on the freezing road but this morning I got a call telling me my cat had been killed on the road I live on and someone was kind enough to pick her up and take her to the vet who scanned her and call me ..

she was 18 months old. I got to speak to the lady who found her and she informed me she literally found her dead outside my house on the road and now I’m haunted she nearly made it home .

I’ve cried on and off the whole day. Can’t bear to be in the house .

I’m so sorry - I know exactly how you feel.

We lost one on a road 6 months after rescuing him, and another (different house, bought in part because the roads were quiet!) at 7 months old, just a couple of weeks after letting him out for the very first time.

It’s absolutely devastating, and the only time I’ve seen DH cry.

There’s nothing that will help except time… but I feel for you so much. It’s just horrific.

So sorry for your loss. We lost one of ours outside our house at exactly the same age, I found her its such a shame to lose them so young and in such a sudden way.

I’m sorry op. I’ve been there. It’s hard breaking knowing they were just there. Mine was right outside my door
