Just getting a bit pissed off with hypocritical people lately and turn on twitter to find it full of harry and Megan, which got me directing my annoyance at hypocrites to Harry.

I did used to love the guy, and no hate from me here, but what I can't understand is:

  1. The boy (man?) hates the press apparently, yet is in the media every second of his own choosing
  1. He didn't want the press to use Diana for media gains and money making. Now his new netflix documentary appears to be going to do just that, judging by the trailor (which has already exploited Diana for clicks without the documentary even being out yet)
  1. The man professes the royal family are all racist, but HE is the one who wore a nazi uniform, black faced himself, and has used racial slurs to many. (I don't think any of the other royals have gone so far as to dress up as a Nazi have they?)

Sorry for doing another Harry and megs thread, but the hypocrisy has really got to me today for some reason! (maybe PMT!)

If you r fed up with Harry threads, feel to coment on what other people you know have done hypocritical things that drive your nuts!! No need to mention Harry or Megan!

Now I’m disappointed as I wanted it to be about Harry Styles. Sigh.

In his defence, the media hounded his wife and trash talked her like mad. A bit different to wanting to have your say and try and make a good difference to the world. I honestly believe he means well.

Personally I find it all a bit boring!

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 07/12/2022 20:11

I wish this Netflix show would come out already so that we couldn’t all start not giving a shit again

user1471521072 · 07/12/2022 20:13

I won't be watching the documentary (because I don't have Netflix), but I'll be interested to read reviews from people who watch it.

The trailer may be somewhat misleading. Netflix obviously wants to create a sensation with the trailer.

I agree that Harry should revisit the subject of that nazi look that he wore to the party all those years ago. He should apologise, admit that it was a stupid, racist mistake, and that he learned from it.

I'm actually really looking forward to watching it!! Is that bad?! 😁😁 I know it will piss me off, so not sure why I want to do that to myself! But I really want to see what they have to say that they haven't already )if anything!)

(I do also feel a bit sorry for Harry. I think if the marriage ever falls apart, which it may well, then he'll be really really stuck. He'll probably want to come home, but could he actually go back? Poor Harry. It's gonna be tough. Hoping for his sake the marriage lasts)

He should apologise

I'm pretty sure he already did.

Yes I think this too. I find it really odd that he preaches about racism, knowing what he's done in the past that has been so public.

What is your AIBU question???

you do know there is a Chat forum and a Telly Addicts forum @SuperSuperCold ?

LakieLady · 07/12/2022 20:29

I'm a republican and think the monarchy should have ended when the queen died, so anything that exposes them to ridicule or undermines their credibility is fine by me.

The sooner we get rid of the whole archaic institution the better, and M&H are certainly doing a grand job of showing what an uptight bunch of dinosaurs they are.

StoneofDestiny · 07/12/2022 20:30

We just need to ditch all the Royals and let them earn their living themselves by slagging each other off.

That said - the media (and public) feed off 'royal stories and the lies they want us to swallow (deliberate falsehoods and lies by omission), so what Harry is doing seems just following in the family footsteps.

Camilla and Kate were also hounded by the media but they managed to rise above it.

Not to the same degree. They’re actually very well protected. There was also racism involved which no one can pretend didn’t happen. I mean hey, no one can say they’re perfect. But I can also see why they went crazy from it. Most of us on here wouldn’t cope.

BiscuitLover3678 · 07/12/2022 20:46

I’m sorry but Kate is treated very differently. She can’t do anything wrong. But she plays the game and looks pretty miserable to me tbh.

My sentiments precisely. It was predictable that as soon as their matriarch died, that family would splinter. The Yorks will likely rarely be seen in public again and will fade into the background as they were always going to do, the Wessex's daughter wisely keeps a low profile, meanwhile Anne's son-in-law goes on a ridiculous reality show and makes every bit as much a numpty of himself as Harry's so frequently accused of doing. Then it takes all of three months for Susan Hussey - the Queen's close companion and William's godmother - to let her mask slip and show exactly who she really is. Elizabeth's veneer was already coming off: she'd stood by her revolting son Andrew and married a notorious racist. Now that her friend of 6 decades has displayed similar racist credentials, it stretches plausibility way too far to imagine the Queen didn't know exactly what she was, and likely shared similar views herself.

Meanwhile, Meghan's pulled a People's Choice award for her podcast series and they've both scooped one for standing up to the Windsors' (well-documented) institutional racism.

Harry and Meghan must be hooting. I can't really say I blame them. And if they succeeded in taking the Windsors down, I'd even send them a thank-you note.

CathyorClaire · 07/12/2022 20:51

Harry is a self serving clown who has many questions to answer but he's not alone in that particular royal fold.

I'm not holding my breath for any signs of transparency from any of them.

I don’t understand why people can’t understand that things change.

I’m sure the media coverage, Oprah interview etc came after the royal family cut H&M off?

Don’t they have a huge security bill to protect themselves and small children, so they need a decent income too fund that? So of course they’re going to do that in whatever way they can?

I’m sure I read somewhere that they’re seen as the poor neighbours in Montecito - tiniest house on the street.
