To say don't vote Tory

Horsesandzebras · 07/12/2022 10:53

Little poll really to see how Mumsnetters feel towards the Tory Party

YANBU = I dislike how the Torys have managed the country
YABU = I like how the Tories have managed the country

I know it's unreasonable to tell you how to vote. I just think it will be interesting to guage their popularity on here.

You are right. Mind your own business OP

FOJN · 07/12/2022 10:56

YABU for telling anyone how to vote.

NoodleNuts · 07/12/2022 10:57

I think you can gauge their popularity on here by the gazillion other threads on the subject, no need for a poll.

Mouse82 · 07/12/2022 10:58

I'm still trying to work out what a Tory is.

stickydoughnuts · 07/12/2022 10:59

MN is left leaning. Everyone shouts down people who admit to voting Tory. It will be a totally skewed poll, like most polls have been for the last decade. Few people are going to admit to voting Tory.

I will, but tbh it’s much of a muchness and I won’t mind that much if Keir gets in - it’s not like with JC where it would have been a clusterfuck.

unsureatthispoint · 07/12/2022 11:02

It's not only him though. Consider the people around him and if he has the guts to face up to them when they start going on about their deranged plans and loopy perception of reality

To be honest I've not seen posts that roast Tory voters. This method allows people to say they like the Conservative Party without publically coming out and admitting it.

You haven't looked very hard.
See also anyone who foolishly admits to having voted for Brexit on here.

It’s actually hard to vote for anyone though. Everyone is so shit. Like I have always voted Tory but even I look around at the last few years and wonder wtf has happened. Sadly they are the party best aligned with my financial situation.

Venetiaparties · 07/12/2022 11:14

WTF?

Who can women vote for? Conservative party are on a suicidal mission and Labour are basically supporting the largest self harm exercise the country has ever seen via the unions this Christmas and have NO IDEA what a woman is???? Our rights will be obliterated under Starmer, he can't even pinpoint what a vagina means.

So no, don't you DARE come on here and tell us how to vote.

Train drivers earn 60,000gb PA PLUS overtime and have been offered a huge pay rise and are STILL not happy to accept it. This is not about the money.

What we are seeing is a forced collapse of society purely for political purposes, paid for and by the Labour Party and you want us to vote for them? When they are so happy to see this country burn?

The strikes are totally coordinated, well planned in advance and executed without a single thought for those that will die when they don't get an ambulance, or the cancer patients or those in A&E in life and death situations, the old lady who won't see any family this Christmas having been alone for the past two years thanks to the train strike.

All of these strikes will go ahead as we enter the most dangerous part of the year - we are dealing with Covid, a flu outbreak AND a super strain of Strep A killing children.

You are grossly out of touch

I never told you to vote labour. Other parties do exist.

The post is about finding out if mumsnetters are rightleaning and the current result shows a significant number are.

You are grossly out of touch. These workers (mostly low paid) aren't striking for shits and giggles. They have reached the end of their tether with employers who expect more and more work for less and less pay, year on year, while fat cat bosses and politicians are getting ever richer.
Labour isn't co-ordinating the strikes - or even supporting them in most cases.

And you want the people who care for these patients to be going out, doing their 12 hour shifts plus longer when they're attending emergencies, with no breaks, putting themselves in danger every day, to then go home and not be able to afford to put the heating on or have a hot meal? Shut up. They're striking because they need to to survive.

That is total BS and you know it. The conditions were that they work some weekends!!! As most rail companies all over the world have a functioning rail system seven days a week except for us!! Still living in the 1950s here.

They are not low paid either!!!!!

Train drivers - 60,000 a year PLUS generous over time
Postal workers - 47,5000 a year - which is a staggering amount for such a low skills base job
Paramedic - 36,500 a year
Nurse - 35,000 a year
Border force - 31,000 to 41,000 a year

How can a postal worker earn more than a paramedic????

Labour are FULLY behind the action and have said as much, and it is going to back fire badly.

Angela Raynor said only yesterday she supports the strikes. Radio 4 listen to her interview. Very clearly says Lynch is doing a 'good job' !! Can you just imagine what would happen if this militant woman would do if Labour wins the election.

I totally despair at all of our political parties. And I won't be voting for any of them.

girlmom21 · 07/12/2022 11:35

Hahahaha @Venetiaparties where on earth have you got those salaries from?!

Why the fuck didn't they choose a date in the spring and summer and not put so many lives at risk just before Christmas?

It is an outrageous disgraceful situation that should be allowed to happen.

What are you ten years old?

It is well known, well published and can be found easily, do your own research!

🙄 Is this your first day on MN?

Hobbi · 07/12/2022 11:39

@Venetiaparties what motivated you to tell such whoppers about pay? Postal workers are lucky to earn >£20k.

MarshaBradyo · 07/12/2022 11:39

Why tell people who to vote for?

WatchoRulo · 07/12/2022 11:40

@Venetiaparties Come back when you have read up on the truth - you are the one spouting "total Bullshit" as you so charmingly put it.

That's just utter bullshit.

Thelnebriati · 07/12/2022 11:41

I'm not voting because the vote doesn't match the thread title.

I'm not voting Tory. I dislike the way they have been running the country since they got in. They've reached the point where they are openly rinsing us, billions has gone to their mates in projects that never happened. They introduced the idea of self ID that has contributed towards wrecking society.

I am unable to vote for Labour or the Lib Dems as they both support self ID, and that will erase women's rights to single sex spaces and services.

GratefulCheddar · 07/12/2022 11:41

Because someone doesn’t like how the Conservatives have run the country does not mean they won’t vote for them again.

What you need to ask is why people won’t vote Labour, because in the next election I can see many people abstaining.
