To say don't vote Tory

Horsesandzebras · 07/12/2022 10:53

Little poll really to see how Mumsnetters feel towards the Tory Party

YANBU = I dislike how the Torys have managed the country
YABU = I like how the Tories have managed the country

I know it's unreasonable to tell you how to vote. I just think it will be interesting to guage their popularity on here.

To be honest I've not seen posts that roast Tory voters.

🙄 Is this your first day on MN?

Fairly new here

But current results say 40% do think the Conservatives have done a good job of running the country. It looks like a lot more Tory voters are on here than some people think.

However, i realise people might just be clicking YABU in response to telling them not to vote Tory. Messed up there, my bad.

bozzabollix · 07/12/2022 11:43

Oh god I pressed the wrong option. What a mistake!

I fucking detest and loathe them.

My husband works in a hospital, it was jammed yesterday, full of people who could be discharged had the Tories not decimated social care budgets. People will be dying through being stuck in those corridors waiting for a bed to become available.

If you’re in the NHS or someone married to a person who is then unless you’re a massive aberration you’re not going to be happy with the Tories. Frankly we can’t get rid fast enough, but then the rebuilding effort will be huge.

GratefulCheddar · 07/12/2022 11:41

Because someone doesn’t like how the Conservatives have run the country does not mean they won’t vote for them again.

What you need to ask is why people won’t vote Labour, because in the next election I can see many people abstaining.

Yes, this. It’s a leap to assume people who are fed up with the currently conservatives will make the jump to labour. And anything else is a waste of a vote, let’s face it

PurpleButterflyWings · 07/12/2022 11:44

@Horsesandzebras Are you taking the piss? Confused

YABVVVU to think you can tell others how to vote. I almost feel like voting for Tories now just to piss off the wokie lefties, because I am SICK of them thinking they are right about everything, that they can tell people what to do, and people who vote Tory are all thick, badly-educated, racist idiots. (waits for the naff and predictable 'if the cap fits' type comments!' )🙄

I'm not a leftie, I'm a Greenie 😂

For people who loathe the conservatives, who would your vote go to?

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 07/12/2022 11:47

Fairly new

Ah! Of course.

Hooverphobe · 07/12/2022 11:47

@Horsesandzebras if you think there are a lot of “quiet tories” on mn - your mind will be blown come election time.

why are you green? Do you support paedophiles and make rapists in female prisons?

Zipps · 07/12/2022 11:48

Tories- look after their own, throw scraps to the poor gained from taxes from the workers.

Labour- Everyone who earns more than minimum wage or God forbid tries to better themselves is a target. Too much trying to appease people who cba to sort themselves out.

Therefore I am not voting for anyone until there are big changes.

Why? What do you think will happen come the next GE? I really don't know.

@Venetiaparties the average postal person salary is £25,000. Same for border force.

You're not taking account shift work with all the others, nor the hours expected of them.

It's also not only train drivers striking.
It's numerous people across the sector.

PurpleButterflyWings · 07/12/2022 11:54

Horsesandzebras · 07/12/2022 11:45

I'm not a leftie, I'm a Greenie 😂

So you're a leftie then!!! Do you think being a 'greenie' makes you right wing? 😂

Horsesandzebras · 07/12/2022 11:49

Answer @Hooverphobe 's question then 'do you support paedophiles and male rapists in female prisons?''

unsureatthispoint · 07/12/2022 11:58

Like I have always voted Tory but even I look around at the last few years and wonder wtf has happened. Sadly they are the party best aligned with my financial situation.

Also we need to remember that we vote for a party. It's not a case of
'I don't mind Starmer'

Everyone liked Boris and all of a sudden he was ousted with a succession of very different people in charge

GasPanic · 07/12/2022 11:58

Think I will be waiting until the next election and the manifestos before deciding how I want to vote.

I feel like part of the squeezed middle, so I will generally be voting on who offers the lowest taxes out of the two main parties.

heloiseandabe · 07/12/2022 11:59

There's always one who says "<insert name of politician or party> may be complete and utter immoral, self serving shit but at least they know what a woman is."

🙄 And some of these people are trusted with a vote.

Pythonese · 07/12/2022 11:59

You are right. Mind your own business OP

Exactly. Bugger off telling ppl who to vote for.

Hobbi · 07/12/2022 12:02

I love the way people build straw men about what they think Labour's policy on trans rights will be - as if the Tories are the protectors of women's issues. They'll protect old, rich, white women - after the old, rich, white men are looked after.

cinnabongene · 07/12/2022 12:03

It's hardly as simple as that stupid little poll you've put together.

MichelleScarn · 07/12/2022 12:04

Horsesandzebras · 07/12/2022 11:45

I'm not a leftie, I'm a Greenie 😂

What do you think about the fact that the 'Greenie' focus has moved away from its original campaigning and seems to be focused on the GRA and as above do you support paedophiles and male rapists in female prisons?

cinnabongene · 07/12/2022 12:05

Horsesandzebras · 07/12/2022 11:45

I'm not a leftie, I'm a Greenie 😂

God. Even worse

GloomyDarkness · 07/12/2022 12:05

12 years Tory UK government.

22 + years of Welsh Labour government - having devolved powers over NHS and Education.

Both look very poor at governance - ( and corruption allegations have been leveled at both).

👏🏻👏🏻

It's incredible really, but there's always one.
