To shower every day or not?

Do you shower every day or not?

I am not showering every day and I come from a country that very few people shower every day!

I dislike being wet and as a kid I didn’t shower everyday too. Maybe I don’t do it because I was not taught to do it as kid.

Those who shower every day do you also shower your kids everyday?

And those you shower every day do you get your hair wet or shampoo them everyday?

I wouldn’t be able to do this everyday!!!! Many British people I know shower every day (either morning or night) and I find it so hard mentally and physically to invest time on that on a daily basis given everything is in such a fast pace.

I would never sacrifice time from my sleep to shower in the morning!

Do whatever you want, as long as you don't smell.

CSR721 · 14/11/2022 22:14

I shower every other day, wash in between. When I shower I like to have a proper shower, soak, wash my hair, condition etc.

Itloggedmeoutagain · 14/11/2022 22:14

Shower cap
5 minutes
It's a non issue

ColeensBoot · 14/11/2022 22:14

Grim. So that explains why so many people stink on public transport.

Lockheart · 14/11/2022 22:14

Shower as often as you need to, every body is different.

Greenballoons · 14/11/2022 22:14

I don’t smell, very rarely I am sweaty … Do people shower every morning because they wake up smelly and are sweaty?

It takes 3 minutes to shower and easy yourself. Even the busiest of people can spare 3 minutes

BabyOnBoard90 · 14/11/2022 22:14

No wonder we have pandemics.

Zone2NorthLondon · 14/11/2022 22:15

I shower daily, before work
if it’s been a difficult day or in heatwave I showered when I got home too
its my routine, makes me feel clean and relaxed ,.love being wet and all sudsy

We shower each day, I wash my hair every 3 days. As that's all it needs.

But others will shower twice a day, some will shower every other day, some people 3 times a week.

Everyone has different bodies, different activities, different skin types etx

And, as long as you don't smell, it really DOESN'T MATTER.

Grim means serious or harsh. It does not mean gross.

bravelittletiger · 14/11/2022 22:15

I shower every morning. I feel dirty and smelly if I don't.

I have started showering every other day unless I'm doing something sweaty .. I have an electric shower .the cost is too much..

devilledhens · 14/11/2022 22:17

how often do you shower?

Lockheart · 14/11/2022 22:17

BabyOnBoard90 · 14/11/2022 22:14

No wonder we have pandemics.

Pandemics are caused by viral mutations which commonly occur when humans and animals are in close proximity and a pathogen jumps the species barrier.

It is not related to how often one showers.

Chailatteplease · 14/11/2022 22:17

Shower everyday but only wash hair 2-3 times per week. Could not be bothered to do it everyday!

NoSquirrels · 14/11/2022 22:17

Even if you don’t shower, you need to wash every day - and that takes as long as a quick shower. I wash my hair every 2-3 days.

In my house, the expectation is that fro puberty onwards you shower every day.

Sparklingbrook · 14/11/2022 22:17

Twice a day. Hair wash in the morning.
DC were always bathed/showered every day.

Baconand · 14/11/2022 22:17

Shower daily, only wash hair every 3 days. Shower cap in between.
I find it quicker to shower than have a wash.

DD has 2-3 baths a week on average (she’s 3), she gets eczema if she has too many and she is also hard to get out the bath so couldn’t face it daily as we get home late from childcare as it is. She has a good wash though in between.

Oh, one of these threads.

I mean, I scrub myself from top to toe in sterilised water and bleach with wire wool...

As long as you're doing what you need to done to keep clean then you keep doing you and I'll do me.

UniversalTruth · 14/11/2022 22:18

I'm 100% sure that showering habits and pandemics are not related.

If you feel clean enough and don't smell then it does not bother me how often you shower. YANBU

Grim means serious or harsh. It does not mean gross.

The second definition in the OED is "unpleasant or depressing." I think that probably fits with the poster's intent.
