So it's not covid, tested negative as did DP.
But for a week now I have been wiped out. It started off as the typical flu. Body aches, shivvers, lathergy, cough ect ect. Now I'm extremely dizzy and faint and still have a fever. I've had both covid and flu before and they started to get better around day 3/4 not gradually worse!

Has anyone else caught this one and recovered recently? If so how long did it take? I'm so over feeling this way.

My DP has been wiped out since Saturday, and I started with it yesterday 😩

Yahyahs22 · 27/10/2022 09:53

It started Saturday for me too! Has he got the dizzy spells?
Hope you both recover quickly, it's crippling!

I have exactly this but have tested positive. Maybe test again?

Chucklefuck · 27/10/2022 09:56

Same here, a whole houseful of us all down with not-covid-but-fuck-me-its-awful 😭

I was actually delirious on Monday night, didn't sleep a wink, just lay in bed shivering then sweating and having weird unreal thoughts.

Fever has now broken but I can't face food and am so wiped out, also have earache and aches all over my body still. Absolute misery!

Blanketpolicy · 27/10/2022 10:00

Ive had it and unfortunately agonising toothache at the same time. Have been too ill up till now to go and cough all over the dentist, appointment is finally today!

Yahyahs22 · 27/10/2022 10:05

@Blanketpolicy how long did it last for you?
If I could give you more than sympathy you would have it, toothache has always been the worst for me. I've said I would rather give birth to my children again than deal with bad tooth pain!

My son's got this now, taking him to the GP today because he's had a fever up and down since Sunday and it went high again yesterday. Terrible cough. Testing negative for Covid.

I really hope I don't get it! I've felt like I'm fighting something off all week so hopefully my immune system is doing well.

SatinHeart · 27/10/2022 10:12

I've got something like that at the moment - smallest DC brought it home from nursery last week.

No fever though in our cases, just aches, chills sore through and an awful awful cough. I'm on about day 6 now. I feel hideous. Still covid negative.

SatinHeart · 27/10/2022 10:13

*sore throat

Hilarymantelspencilsharpener · 27/10/2022 10:13

DH has had a really awful, hacking cough that's kept him up for the past three nights - no idea where he caught it . Not COVID, and I haven't caught it yet. There've been warnings that this year's flu season may be particularly bad - we had our jabs last week and honestly think everyone should think about it.

ShamedBySiri · 27/10/2022 10:16

Have you repeated your lateral flow? I started feeling achy on Saturday, by Monday I was feeling really crap with all the symptoms you have but my lateral flow was negative. I repeated it on Tuesday and got a faint line. When I repeated it yesterday there was a very strong line in the time it took me to dispose of the kit and wash my hands. It does sound like covid. And it's crap.
I changed my sheets yesterday as they were so sweaty, in the night I had to change my pyjama too for a T shirt and strip off the sodden pillow cases off my pillow. I use a special neck one and it still feels damp despite being left to air. I think I'll have to buy new bedding after this. I'm worrying about the germs in the duvet etc when I am recovered enough for DH (who has moved into DD's room) to return.

Yahyahs22 · 27/10/2022 10:20

I gave up testing day 3 when it was still negative and couldn't imagine doing it again as I felt too bad. Perhaps I'll try again today. How long did yours go on for?

on my 3rd week mainly sinus/tiredness not hungry.fed up feel a bit better for 2 days then ill again, a few neighbours are the same, not been to doctors tested negative for covid, everyone says its a virus, dragging on,house a mess do a bit then have to sit down.

TiredButAlive · 27/10/2022 10:22

I'm just recovering from Covid. Tested negative for the first two days and only tested positive on Day 3 as the early acute symptoms subsided. Probably worth testing again.

Moon22 · 27/10/2022 10:27

I've heard loads of people with a really heavy cold/viral thing that's lasted around 10 days lately. Awful
Hope you feel better soon.

Objectionhearsayspeculation · 27/10/2022 10:38

We are getting phone calls every 3 days (so are all households in the immediate area) from Daera because we are in a hotspot for Avian flu. Apparently it is highly transmissible to humans can be fatal and half the town has it and I'm on day 32 of Covid and still not well so dreading getting that on top. Ffs first swine flu, then Covid now bird flu, Mother Nature really is telling us something!

OnlyTheBravest · 27/10/2022 10:39

I am on day 10 still feel incredibly rough. Cough, hotter than normal and have not been eating or sleeping properly. Hopefully, I will have some immunity going into winter. Silver lining.

Are you sure you don't now have sinusitis? My teeth started hurting on Tuesday and miraculously it was the same day I was booked in at the dentist for a check up. Explained to the dentist but he couldn't see anything that would be causing it and how I described the pain he said it sounds more like sinusitis which made a lot of sense as my face is sore under my eyes as well.

Yahyahs22 · 27/10/2022 10:46

Oh yes I forgot to mention the lack of good sleep. It takes me half hour to fall asleep and it's never deep. I'm up every hour at best. This thing is just awful

I had this bug 8 weeks ago, and a friend also caught it roughly the same time. We are both still dizzy now, 2 months on.
I hope yours goes quicker.

Longingformore50 · 27/10/2022 10:51

We had it a couple of weeks ago, I finally felt better for 3 days now I've started with something else and so as my son. Absolutely sick of feeling poorly

If that's to me I started mild symptoms Saturday pm, was away from home and couldn't do an LFT until I got home on Monday by which time I was feeling crap, sore throat like sandpaper. LFT was Neg Monday but Pos Tuesday so day 4 of symptoms?
It's still going on! Feeling rubbish but throat has improved.

I would say keep repeating the LFTs, a lot of these symptoms sound like covid.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 27/10/2022 10:59

I'm on day 9 now and still struggling.. tests have been negative throughout.

Mostly now it's full on blocked nose, achey and impossible to sleep. Burning eyes as well, horrible.

I'm back in the office next week so praying it eases up. Every time I think I'm better I get a resurgence and feel shocking again.

Yahyahs22 · 27/10/2022 11:02

This really does sound like a nasty virus! I was hoping I would feel better after a week but judging by everyone here, it's not close to going yet.

Yep, sinusitis now for me. Day 14 now but I finally started antibiotics yesterday as it’s not budging. Generally I’m healthy, when I do get ill it’s nothing too bad but this has been awful. Mostly pain/pressure in my face and head now and still congested.

Kept feeling better every few days and then waking up the next day feeling dreadful again. Hoping you’re on the mend soon Flowers
