what weird or unusual smells do you really like?!

I love petrol (not unusual I know but still!) and absolutely adore the smell of teabags. Not fruit or herbal tea, just typical breakfast teabags. I absolutely love them and when I was a child I used to sit with them at my nose and smell them so much (then when I blew my nose it was black and I thought it was hilarious) but even as an adult I adore the smell. I don’t really like the smell of tea, it’s just the teabags!

so, what unusual smells do you like?!

As a kid, I had a pencil case that was made from recycled tyres. I could not stop sniffing it.

The smell of methylated spirits - we used to have a little train/engine powered by meths I think and I always loved the smell!

The exhaust of a two stroke motorcycle, very reminiscent of my late teenage and early twenties.

Petrichor - that smell of rain on hot earth/flagstones/bricks
Old fashioned moth balls
Coal tar shampoo
Petrol, creosote and exhaust fumes
Oakmoss in perfume (real stuff is banned these days)

I worked in newspaper print for many years, I loved the smell of papers that had just come off the press.

Christmas trees. I walk around Christmas tree yards and sniff the branches while DH pretends he doesn't know me.

I work in a school and I love the smell of the hall after lunch hour. It's a smell that is 100% primary school for me

Spearmint - strongly reminds me of car sickness as my Mum chewed spearmint gum on long car journeys

My partners breath, it has a sweet smell

School text books and magazines

Pigeons......I love the smell of Pigeons, my grandad kept them and they remind me of him.

@Ludo19 > I didn't know pigeons smelt - I love pigeons. They're so clumsy, bumbling about and trying to survive.

All birds smell. I used to huff my old budgie like he was crack 😁

I used to love the smell of Creosote. My dad used to paint the fences with it every year. Think it's banned now!

And the smell of hot radiators on a cold day. It reminds me of childhood
