Would you expect to pay for 5.5 year old if pricing is

I'm wondering if when their children have a birthday they immediately add on a year: child has 5th birthday they tell everyone that child is now 6 years old.

0-5 includes all those months when child is 5 and however many months or days, right up until the child's 6th birthday.

It's really not difficult.

If they intend to only offer free care to under 5s, they've clearly worded that very wrongly. I'd pull them in on it.

It would probably just lead them to change their offer though to say under 5's, but at least it would be clear.

in all my 14 years of taking kids on 100’s days out I have never once seen a place saying this. It’s 0-5 free. Over 5 pay. Unless I see the actual website I’m calling bollocks on this.

This. Their pricing structure isn't clear, which is their fault.

Should be free until their sixth birthday.

Ages, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are free.
Ages 6 and above pay.

Email the manager quoting their sign and ask for a refund.

It is clear. The OP doesn’t say 5-17, it says 6-17, so clearly she should not have been charged for a 5 year old.

If you've been paying for your child at 5, then more fool you.

Free 0-5 means you pay from the day they turn 6.

Even the TFL 16-25 railcard recognises that it is valid and can still be purchased right up until the day before you turn 26.

O-5 free means people who are 0 1 2 3 4 AND 5 are free.
So how in the fuck do you think that means 5 year olds pay?

For info purposes, I've just checked with a 6 year old. Her schooling , and therefore maths lessons, are not in English, and even she fully understands the above!

There are 2 groups here.

Group 1: 0 to 5 year olds, who are free
Group 2: 6 to 17 year olds, who pay.

Those who think that the 5 year old should pay...can you explain why? This would mean that you think the 5 year old is in Group 2, and not Group 1.
Group 2 clearly states 6 to 17 year olds.

It's my birthday in a couple of months.

At the moment I'm 73. I'm not bloody 74 and I don't tell people I'm 73 and 10 months. I tell them I'm 73 because I won't be 74 until my 74th birthday.

It works exactly the same for a 5 year old child. They're not 6 until their 6th birthday.
