To pull my cleaner up on this?

Like instagram TikTok pushes accounts linked to phone contacts to your home page.

Scrolling yesterday, I’ve been astounded to find multiple videos posted by my cleaner dancing, singing and wearing accessories (hat and sunglasses) in my bedroom on her account. She’s done this many times as she has different outfits on in each. She’s sat on my bed, dancing in my mirror and posing with my hat (left out on a hanger) and sunglasses taken from my bedside table.

She cleans once every two weeks for 2 hours and I leave her alone for one hour so she can get my office done as I WFH. I have found her so far trustworthy although she’s damaged a few things I’ve mentioned to her.

Her cleaning is good but I find her a bit strange and blunt but thought that’s a language barrier thing (she’s asked a few times how I can afford to live alone in my flat)

I want to raise it with her- but am I overreacting?

I'd change the locks rather than just ask for the key back. She might have copied it already. Wouldn't put anything past this one.

I'm not asking for proof, no skin off my nose. But asking strangers on the internet if someone coming into your home, taking the piss, and taking your money in return, is something it's ok to be a bit peeved about is massively under reacting and I just can't believe someone would think it's normal...

OP, sorry but she is so deceitful I think I'd have waited until she turned up and then taken the keys off her- even if I had to pay for that week's clean.

I run a housekeeping company and have it and fb accounts for it. I only use internal photos of properties after gaining permission and I would be livid if my cleaners behaved like that!!

I’m going to see how it goes otherwise I will change the locks. Someone on my flat block group chat has confirmed she also cleans for them so sending them the links now to see if they’re on her account too so perhaps we can get our keys back together!

@AlohaMolly would have no issue if she’d wanted to post how shiny she’d made my sink, but putting on my hat and pissin about on the end of my bed posing in my mirror takes the biscuit 😊

I’d have a word with her. A gentle warning. More if there is anything that puts me or my home at risk. But it’d give me a bit of a laugh too. I’d nip it in the bud with quiet admiration for her spirit.

I'm sorry you felt pressurised into sending a video to a complete stranger @Canyoudigityesyoucan In fact, I'm pretty shocked by it (and by the cleaner's behaviour).

My cleaver did something similar. I came home early and she was stood in my bedroom with one of my best dresses on, heels to match. Even my jewellery. I have literally never fully recovered from it, and never trusted other cleaners since then.
Another hid my dd aged 4 favourite teddy to ‘reach her a lesson’ - she didn’t last long either

I would be really annoyed. A couple of years ago I was ill and the house became a really big job so I paid for a deep clean from a cleaning company. They put loads of before and after pictures on and I felt humiliated and like my privacy had been invaded - partly because my house was a mess compared to normal and I was worried people would think I normally lined like that and partly because I hadn’t consented to a virtual stranger taking pictures in my house.

I complained to the company and they agreed and refunded me as well as deleting the pictures, it hadn’t been what I had planned but I was glad of it!

She would never work for me again.

When challenged my cleaner apologised and said ‘they all do it ‘ its harmless. I never used the agency again

She'd be gone with me. Not only is she clearly not working while you are paying her too (people can spend ages making those bloody videos) but also it's a massive invasion of privacy
