I really fucking hate Bluey

It's dreadful. Like a poor-man's Peppa Pig. The dad is a grumpy bastard. It's like he has a hangover or something. It is incredibly boring. Am very disappointed as I liked the idea of a female protaganist. I like that Bluey doesn't have eyelashes to show the audience she is female. But ugh. So dull. AIBU to ban it forever?

right, bluey is fine but I hate the fucking bluey adults, its a show for children!! not for some 45 year old, drinking her 4th bottle of wine on a work night. I respect all the hardworking mums that need a glass, or even bottles but come on lass you are better than watching bluey.

I do love bluey but I love it in the context of kids shows. Wouldn't watch it on purpose without DS (though he has left the room and I've been watching it before...)

Jasmino1o · 27/12/2022 21:46

my DD loves Bluey, DH too, and so do I 😁 what’s wrong with you OP?! 😂

DD wants a Bluey themed birthday party for her birthday in a couple of months, already ordered the Bluey cake and excited to get all the decorations!

FunctionalSkills · 27/12/2022 22:28

UNICORSE!!!

AnonWeeMouse · 27/12/2022 22:34

How the hell did someone find this thread and bump it after a year?

Weird.

Also.

Bluey is a fantastic show and if people were a lot more like Bandit and Chilli and a lot less like Peter and Lois, the world would be a much MUCH better place.

FunctionalSkills · 28/12/2022 12:17

Oh wow 🙈. I posted on it originally too but didn't realise its been a year!

UNICORSE!!!

Unicorse, what's your favourite food?
...Children.
Gets me and DH every time 😂😂

FunctionalSkills · 28/12/2022 15:32

Best bit every 🥳

Yetanothername99 · 28/12/2022 15:33

I'd rather watch Duggee over Peppa or Bluey. He doesn't feel so patronising or try hard.

ChrisTrepidation · 28/12/2022 15:34

YABVVVU

Bluey is wonderful.

ReadtheReviews · 28/12/2022 15:36

So long as it doesnt have the voiceover artist who does the Rabbit woman in PP and I believe the nanny in Ben and Holly, then it's by default better.
But no, sorry OP, Bluey is moving and sweet and funny.

Whatdoyouthinkno · 28/12/2022 15:44

I like it personally but 2 yo DS hates it and demands I switch it off whenever it comes on so we can’t watch it!

Dalekjastninerels · 28/12/2022 16:02

Your user name suits you OP Angry

Bluey is awesome 😎

I keep checking for the rest of series 3 on disney. It's taking a really long time!

It's not coming until 2023, not sure when exactly.
It hasn't been aired in Australia yet I don't think.

We love Bluey in this house. My son has a significant speech delay and bluey has helped him to speak! It may not be ideal that he’s memorised the thumb nails for every episode but he can actually say (or attempt) the titles which is amazing. He has been able to apply some lines (go away, I’d like to get down now, hi nana, etc) in context.

We chose to start watching bluey so we would have something when he’s sick, in the ED, etc to distract him.

goldopals · 29/12/2022 10:02

I just realised when the first post was posted. My apologies.

DingDonkey · 29/12/2022 10:04

I like Bluey but nothing beats the clangers imo. The reboot series is great and all on iPlayer.

HS1990 · 29/12/2022 10:05

I've seen excellent parenting approaches in Bluey. Like when she wants dad attention and he tells her to touch his arm, and he will reciprocate until he is finished talking. Loved it. Tried it with my daughter too. (Not worked yet but very nice gentle approach)

I’d love an example of where blueys dad is miserable and hungover. Like… ever. This is the dad who shames us into being better parents with his otherworldly levels of role playing games. I know this is probably lighthearted (is it?!) but are you ok OP? 🤣

There is one- it's called whale watching. Bandit and Chilli are both hungover from a NYE party and trying to get out of playing with the kids because they want to lie on the couch/floor and eat corn chips.

I like that episode.

I also like the Episode where Chilli just wants 20 minutes alone time and all the adults seem to know why she wants 20 minutes but the kids don't...

Who knows what she was doing in that 20 minutes, I reckon she was bleaching her tache. 🤣

I think she was probably just lying down staring at her phone in blissful silence. Sometimes you just need nobody to talk to
you for 5 minutes!

Blendandmix · 29/12/2022 16:18

I love Bluey!!

montessorinanny · 29/12/2022 16:22

We love Bluey here. Peppa Pig does not get passed my doorway! I am an Aussie and Bluey reminds me so much of my childhood.

Bog · 29/12/2022 16:26

YABU
Bing is a bastard however. My wife said he deserved to be roadkill.

Demento · 29/12/2022 17:09

I know it's a zombie thread but I am such a Bluey fan. Camping made me cry and swim school made me fall off my chair laughing. I don't think I've seen all of them, but sleepytime is my favourite.
The writer said that he's based it on peppa when I read an interview with him. He also said he didn't do jokes for just parents, kids should be able to laugh at the same jokes. Also nana is his mum in real life (for real life)
