I really fucking hate Bluey

It's dreadful. Like a poor-man's Peppa Pig. The dad is a grumpy bastard. It's like he has a hangover or something. It is incredibly boring. Am very disappointed as I liked the idea of a female protaganist. I like that Bluey doesn't have eyelashes to show the audience she is female. But ugh. So dull. AIBU to ban it forever?

Bluey is by far and away the BEST kids cartoon I've ever seen, and I have cried laughing at it (S1 Ep2 Hospital had me in absolute stiches!!)

As a family we have adopted many phrases from Bluey. Before bed my children go for a 'tactical wee'
If they can't sit still we say (in accent' you have bum worms.
And we also say 'aww I love you Babe' in the way they say it in the mother's day one!

Bluey is excellent! It's the most realistic portrayal of what life is like with tiny kids is that I've ever seen on TV (cartoon dogs not withstanding). The one where they get a take away is hilarious and so close to home. I love how involved the dad is with the kids and the household chores, and how the 'moral' if the episode isn't rammed down the kids' throats ala Bing.

I won't let mine watch Peppa. She's so rude to poor Daddy Pig.

I'm not a massive fan of Bluey but it's hard to imaging anything worse than Peppa Pig TBH.

I think you’re watching the wrong show OP. The dad is literally never ‘a grumpy old bastard’. In fact he puts most of us to shame and makes our normal parenting feel sub par. I love it though! I think you may have been looking in the mirror perhaps?

Agree with PP that Hospital is an amazing episode. It kills me when they chuck the octopus back in.

Bluey is the best. It encourages imaginative games that are fun and free. I really relate to the dad's sense of humour and the way he takes every joke to it's logical conclusion, finding himself really funny in the process. I love how the parents are really engaged but also you can tell when they're exhausted and want to do something else ("I'll play any game as long as I don't have to move or say anything").

I also love that it is about two sisters without making a big deal out of it and that the two sisters aren't drowning in a sea of pink and purple princess toys. They're just normal, fun kids.

I love Bluey - the Dad is very similar to my DH with his silly games . It's very relatable.
Hey Duggee, Go Jetters and Octonauts are also excellent. That blasted pig is banned in our house because she's vile. And fat-shaming. And rude. And a bad friend.

And yes Takeaway. The way everything unravels into chaos and of course the outdoor wee that Bingo needs is the longest ever.
