Pancake day - what's the normal amount of pancakes to eat??

Having a bit of a debate. Family think 6-8 is normal. I have friends who are done after two.

How many do you typically put away??? Grin (hint: make me feel better about the fifth one I'm about to have...!)

Am talking about crepes btw.

We’ve all just had 4 each. Primary age kids and adults.

binkyblinky · 16/02/2021 18:28

17 of course

MagnoliaBeige · 16/02/2021 18:29

2 for pudding here, I don’t think I could eat more than that without being in a sugar coma later!

ALbigbump · 16/02/2021 18:30

My 9 year old just polished off 4, pre vegan days I’d have had the same, my pancakes are big as well though. Enjoy 😉

Tobebythesea · 16/02/2021 18:30

About 3. 1 savoury, 2 sweet. We have them for dinner.

Redcrayons · 16/02/2021 18:30

We eat them after our main meal, so 5 would be pushing it for me, unless they are the size of scotch pancake.

CatRamsey · 16/02/2021 18:31

All of them

RightOnTheEdge · 16/02/2021 18:31

We had 3 each then we ran out of batter. I'm sure I could have eaten more at the time if there had been more but I am feeling a bit full now.

Molehillfromamountain · 16/02/2021 18:31

Usually around 3x 8-10cm American style ones each.

If it was poffertjes however it would be a full pan per person!

RenegadeMrs · 16/02/2021 18:32

We eat until the batter is gone and don't count!

RightOnTheEdge · 16/02/2021 18:32

Eat the 5th one OP!

Natsku · 16/02/2021 18:32

We all had 5 except DS who tasted his and then rejected it (odd child) but it was our entire dinner rather than just pudding.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 16/02/2021 18:32

😂 we will have a lot of competitive pancake under eaters because it’s Mumsnet.

I’ll go- I have one, traditional of course, cooked in a tiny frying pan that came with the toy kitchen. But it’s an awful amount of sugar so I actually try and eek it out to the following pancake day next year, otherwise I will put myself at risk of being a size 10 and have diabetes.

Sammiesnake · 16/02/2021 18:33

What!! Shock we have one or two - how are you eight crepes?!!!! Actually impressed Grin I love them!

Tellto · 16/02/2021 18:34

I've just managed 8 and feel sick , but love it Grin

JayAlfredPrufrock · 16/02/2021 18:34

DH and I have just had three each (small pan) and are having a rest.

We’ve not eaten anything else though.

Respectmyauthoritah · 16/02/2021 18:35

I had only 1 Halo

1 big fuck off American style pancake with blueberries and chocolate chips smothered in butter and honey

waitingforautumn · 16/02/2021 18:35

@binkyblinky

17 of course
You are the energy I need in my life binky!!

We had three at lunchtime (as our lunch) and then two each for pudding after dinner.

kowari · 16/02/2021 18:36

Three

kowari · 16/02/2021 18:37

Teen DS had one, he doesn't like them.

SendMeHome · 16/02/2021 18:37

It depends if you’re having them as your main meal or as pudding, I think?

If we have them as our main meal than six or so... today we’re having 2/3 each, because we’ve had Camembert

Chihuahuacat · 16/02/2021 18:37

3 savoury, 3 sweet American style

CorianderBee · 16/02/2021 18:37

3-4 for full meal I'd say

littlepeas · 16/02/2021 18:38

2 or 3 but they are pudding, not dinner, in our house.
