Pancake day - what's the normal amount of pancakes to eat??

Having a bit of a debate. Family think 6-8 is normal. I have friends who are done after two.

How many do you typically put away??? Grin (hint: make me feel better about the fifth one I'm about to have...!)

Am talking about crepes btw.

I had 4 at lunch time today 3 more at tea time. Am now in a nice stuffed pancake haze.

Having afternoon tea delivered tomorrow so it's not getting much better then!

JayAlfredPrufrock · 16/02/2021 19:16

Just had another three.

CoronaIsWatching · 16/02/2021 19:18

Having just pancakes for tea would make me feel like shit after. One or two for pudding fine.

SplendidSuns1000 · 16/02/2021 19:18

We had pizza for dinner and DH still managed 9 crepes, I had 2 but there's some batter left over for a late night snack Grin

Franklyfrost · 16/02/2021 19:18

Two but with cheese, olives, tomatoes, broccoli, pepper and lambs lettuce in them. I think that’s about the same as eating a pizza.

yearinyearout · 16/02/2021 19:19

We had them for lunch today, think we had 4 each but it was only a small 7 inch frying pan

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 16/02/2021 19:19

I only have for pudding and would probably have 2, full pan size, not as wafer thin as a French crepe just a smidge thicker. With golden syrup & lemon juice. Rolled up.

blackheartsgirl · 16/02/2021 19:19

About 3 or 4 here
But it is our main meal tonight and we have strawberries and bananas with ours so quite filling

I was done after 2 but ill prob have cheese and crackers after

GameSetMatch · 16/02/2021 19:19

We had a light meal them three each, we had really sickly rich ones with chocolate/ caramel and chocolate orange so couldn’t really eat more than 3

spiderlight · 16/02/2021 19:20

Four each, but that was our main meal of the day, they were quite thin, and we had them with banana and chocolate spread so that makes them healthy!

TomorrowIsAnotherDae · 16/02/2021 19:20

I had 3, with maple syrup, strawberries, Greek yogurt and toasted almonds. Lush they were.

Franklyfrost · 16/02/2021 19:20

Oh no! Cross post to @SplendidSuns1000 I wasn’t commenting on your partner’s pancake eating abilities!

onlyhereforthefood · 16/02/2021 19:20

I had 4 american style one with crispy bacon and maple syrup for breakfast and was still ravenous come lunch time!

bellie710 · 16/02/2021 19:22

Mine had 6 each 9-14, quite large too no mix left for me and DH!

Standrewsschool · 16/02/2021 19:24

Three after a very light meal.

OddestSock · 16/02/2021 19:24

I only had 1 as pudding, but it had all the toppings (ice cream, cream, maltesers, chocolate buttons, flake and chocolate sauce) on. I'd challenge anyone to manage more than one of those :D

Centerparcs Pancake House style.

AChickenCalledDaal · 16/02/2021 19:25

Well our family-sized pile is about four inches high and they were all gone in ten minutes.

TatianaBis · 16/02/2021 19:27

We normally have 3 in this house: 2 savoury & 1 sweet.

But - oh what a sweet pancake: tonight it's chestnut, chantilly cream & grand marnier.

LittleDoritt · 16/02/2021 19:27

1-2 savoury ones, and then 2 sweet. Or until the batter runs out. Whichever is first.

JohnMiddleNameRedactedSwanson · 16/02/2021 19:27

@Happycat1212

I can’t believe how many people eat! I’ve had 3 and felt like a pig Blush
Thank GOODNESS for this thread to make you feel all bird-like again.
Lovely1a2b3c · 16/02/2021 19:27

3-5.

Ours are being made now- am planning two with Nutella and marshmallows, 1 with golden syrup, lemon and sugar and 1 with maple syrup!

speakout · 16/02/2021 19:28

Savoury as a main meal- 2
Sweet as a snack or dessert- 1.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 16/02/2021 19:28

I'm jealous of you all, I can't COOK the flaming things without them turning into scrambled egg-cake Envy

I'm here to pick up tips. I have told the kids that it's not pancake day at all. They don't believe me.

Mrgrinch · 16/02/2021 19:30

One or two.

Anyone who sits and eats 8 pancakes is a greedy pig. That's ridiculous.

PurpleDaisies · 16/02/2021 19:32

Sitting snd eating eight pancakes is ridiculous. You need to eat them standing next to the frying pan while cooking the next one. Everyone knows that.
