Pancake day - what's the normal amount of pancakes to eat??

Having a bit of a debate. Family think 6-8 is normal. I have friends who are done after two.

How many do you typically put away??? Grin (hint: make me feel better about the fifth one I'm about to have...!)

Am talking about crepes btw.

42, the answer to everything.

HotPenguin · 16/02/2021 19:49

We had one savoury galette each then two sweet crepes. That was our dinner.

@TatianaBis

Blimey O'Reilly.

No wonder 60% of adults are classed as overweight or obese in the UK.

BINGO
SpeakingFranglais · 16/02/2021 19:50

None, I hate pancakes. And yet, I eat almost everything else. Liver, yes please. Black pudding, yum. Marmite? Love it. Anything else sweet, absolutely.

Pancakes? Ugh. Not crepes, or American, sweet or savoury, I just can’t stand the texture.

Nohomemadecandles · 16/02/2021 19:50

I glanced at one, split one between my 3 dcs, froze the rest and will make stock from the leftovers.

Oh, won't somebody think of the NHS, visceral fat, could possibly imagine....

HTH1 · 16/02/2021 19:50

Agree with the answer all of them. Our toppings were strawberry jam, squirty cream, JimJam spread (basically Nutella), biscoff spread and maple syrup.

Toddlerteaplease · 16/02/2021 19:50

I used to have 3 thick ones. Made the mistake of getting a kit. Mistake. I only got two out of it. Sad

berryhead2013 · 16/02/2021 19:51

I'm so jealous of you all mine were inedible all 12 I tried to make.the look of disappointment on my kids faces for the third year running is about to break me but I had some shop bought this year I'm no a complete dafty 😂

FitterHappierMoreProductive · 16/02/2021 19:51

I don’t think you can tell people’s weight from their pancake consumption @TatianaBis

I had 5 or 6 (probably one of the people you’re judging) but I went for a 5 mile run this morning and have a BMI of 22. And anyway, naff off with your judgement, it’s been a miserable blooming 12 months.

We treated ourselves to skimmed milk instead of water and will get five meals out of them.
Chocoqueen · 16/02/2021 19:52

We had 3 each, 1 savoury and 2 sweet. We were meant to have 2 of each but ran out of batter.

So bloody predictable Hmm

FangsForTheMemory · 16/02/2021 19:53

6 but they weren't huge - batter with 1 egg and 300ml milk.

MaryBoBary · 16/02/2021 19:53

We'd have about 3 or 4 each

FangsForTheMemory · 16/02/2021 19:54

@TatianaBis This is ONCE a year, love!

TheSoapyFrog · 16/02/2021 19:54

Me and the kids had 4 big chocolate chip American pancakes for breakfast each. Next year there will be bacon and maple syrup pancakes for lunch, savory ones for dinner and crepes with lemon and sugar for pudding.

DynamoKev · 16/02/2021 19:54

Donoteatthekittens · 16/02/2021 19:55

DH had two with Nutella and maple syrup. I’m so teeny tiny I had a forkful of his, plain of course. Nutella is basically crack cocaine.

JesusAteMyHamster · 16/02/2021 19:55

I've had 5.

2 crepes for breakfast filled with ham and cheese.

And I've just polished off 3, American pancakes topped with toasted marshmallows, Nutella, a mini mars bar, mini milky way, berries (( to healtherise the occasion )) an obligatory drizzle of syrup and a load of squirty cream.

Benfoldslanded · 16/02/2021 19:55

Ours must be really big! I had one with beef and gravy inside, now no room for my sweet one. My boys all managed 2, one savoury and one sweet.

TwoleftUggs · 16/02/2021 19:57

My record was 13 one year. Proper sized ones too. I think I was pg at the time and pancakes were my thing! This year I had 3 smallish banana & oat milk ones at lunch and then 5 proper ones tonight. Pancake day is my favourite day of the year.

Squiffany · 16/02/2021 19:57

@MagnoliaBeige

2 for pudding here, I don’t think I could eat more than that without being in a sugar coma later!
Same here and I’m greedy.
Nohomemadecandles · 16/02/2021 19:57

@Benfoldslanded this sounded like Rachel's trifle Grin

PurpleDaisies · 16/02/2021 19:57

It’s one meal. No worse that a one off take away.

It’s what you eat most of the time that matters, not on special occasions.

I have eaten a stack of pancakes and an not overweight or obese.

Dobbyismyfavourite · 16/02/2021 19:58

I've just had two for dinner, the first had yoghurt and lots of berries, the second lemon and sugar.
