I am past caring now.
I feel for people who didn't want Brexit. Who know all the implications and can see the issues that are coming.

But if you want No Deal Brexit and it fucks you up, tough shit.

You wanted it. You get it. You own it.

And pardon me if I don't give a shit anymore about you.

I agree.

Doublebubblebubble · 11/12/2020 19:34

Agree completely!!

My entire family (apart from me - I'm the moronic leftie apparently) voted for brexit. Weve had many MANY arguments about it. My mum has cancer right now so she has a get out of jail free card but honestly and secretly im loving seeing my brother panic (he's self employed and does (well did) a LOT of business in Europe. Not saying I want him to go out of business, just to be on edge and to think about why he voted the way he did.

I'm loving seeing exactly what theyve done. Its the most beautiful irony.

Boy do I love being right all the time.

(Also, F Boris and Farage!!!)

SinisterBumFacedCat · 11/12/2020 19:37

Yes but any minute someone will be along to say it’s our fault for alienating the Leave voters, who are the only ones whose opinions are valid.

Northernshepherd · 11/12/2020 19:39

Fair enough but how will you know who those people are? How do you know who to give a shot about?

Plussizejumpsuit · 11/12/2020 19:40

I get what you mean. But unfortunately it's not just a matter of fuck all the people who wanted brexit this is the brexit you're getting. Because the negative effects will not just effect the people who wanted it. So in that sense Yabu. But I get it

Northernshepherd · 11/12/2020 19:40

Assuming you are going to translate this into your actual life that is

Rollingpiglet · 11/12/2020 19:42

I can't agree, no one deserves the shit show this is turning out to be, and no I didn't vote for it.

Heard enough people who said they voted for Brexit and are now suffering. They are going to suffer more. Tough.

And it's those people who I do care about.

Apparently some voted leave not because they wanted to leave but because the remain campaign hurts their feelings. Poor things. Hopefully turnips will heal these deep emotional wounds.

Tellmetruth4 · 11/12/2020 19:51

I wanted to be proven wrong and still do. I really want Brexit to be a success and I will hold my hands up and say I was massively against it but it worked out however, it doesn’t look that way. Maybe they’ll turn it around.

Anyway OP you’ll be accused of ‘sneering’ soon which apparently upset all of ‘the people’ so much that they were driven to vote us all into a clusterfuck.

Northernshepherd · 11/12/2020 19:52

Tbh I doubt very much that you ever gave a shit about those people.

PortraitOfAWoman · 11/12/2020 19:55

I don't think leavers voted for no deal. I'm sick of all of this on MN, It's democracy so get over it. not everyone gets what they want.

Also, no one knows what Brexit with a deal or n deal will look like for years and I suspect the EU will collapse as lots of other countries will follow the Uk.

You have no idea about what I do and have done to help people who have been and continue to struggle.

And you have no idea about the people you're on about. Unless you're specifically on about the brexiteers in your life.

Leavers voted knowing that no deal was a possibility. They like to say they knew what they were voting for and are willing to pay the price, so let them. It’s just sad that people who’ve always known how badly this would turn out will pay a price too.

Northernshepherd · 11/12/2020 20:01

Sorry but I'm a remainer too and struggle to have sympathy for this attitude. Yes it's shit. It's the last thing I want. But no I don't and never will believe 17m people are undeserving of any sympathy or compassion

Mistlewoeandwhine · 11/12/2020 20:01

There is no way we are leaving with a deal. That was never the intention.

Bagamoyo1 · 11/12/2020 20:03

I don’t think anyone wanted a no deal Brexit, or ever imagined it would happen.

Nope. Not democracy. Nothing very democratic about this half-arsed attempt at a referendum.

OrigamiOwl · 11/12/2020 20:05

But I (and everyone I know) voted remain... But now we're stuck with a no deal. This isn't what I wanted but it's my food bill that is going to go up, my options to work abroad that are restricted, all the other things on the massive list. So I do still care.

chomalungma · 11/12/2020 20:06

There are many people who voted to Leave who will be absolutely fine. Who have the resources, the money and the advantages not to be affected.

And those who wanted change, who wanted something better and who voted to Leave - who voted for this Government who are determined to fuck us up with No Deal, well don't come complaining when food prices rise, when your factory shuts down and you have to pay for extra travel insurance on your expensive flight to Europe.

No. Why should future generations suffer? Young people have been absolutely stuffed by coronavirus and now the economy will take another hammering. My ds is 21 and too young to have voted in the referendum. Why should he suffer?
