I am past caring now.
I feel for people who didn't want Brexit. Who know all the implications and can see the issues that are coming.

But if you want No Deal Brexit and it fucks you up, tough shit.

You wanted it. You get it. You own it.

And pardon me if I don't give a shit anymore about you.

Why should he suffer

He didn't vote. I feel for him and don't want him to suffer.

He is not who this thread is about.

Oh FFS give over now it’s getting boring. As I’ve said before we have no idea how this is going to turn out, we have no evidence to say whether this has been a good or bad thing because it hasn’t happened yet.

I voted Remain but the fact is that we had a vote, and from the result we are now leaving. It’s called democracy. I’m sick of hearing from people who believe that their opinion is better than everyone else’s. It isn’t unless you have a crystal ball.

The fact that you want people to suffer and live in poverty is quite frankly despicable and it’s these opinions that give Remainers their bad name.

ssd · 11/12/2020 20:10

I'm Scottish and voted to remain and for independence.

I've given up with democracy, it doesn't happen here.

MissEliza · 11/12/2020 20:12

But he and others jn his age group will, much more than the moronic middle age people who voted for it. I have a friend who said smugly over dinner (before the rules changed about socialising) 'oh I want a no deal'. Yes you bloody moron because you and your dh are both very secure public sector workers with a secure pension and no mortgage. And it's not a bloody'deal'. At some point we need to agree on trading arrangements. It's not a game.

Endofmytether2020 · 11/12/2020 20:12

I think that many people who voted for Brexit will blame lockdown restrictions for any economic disaster rather than owning it.

Hollyoakswatcher · 11/12/2020 20:14

@ssd democracy does happen, you just happen to be in the minority, someone has to be, that is literally democracy. If Scotland had b come independent and we had remained would you still be bleating on about how undemocratic the country was. Of course not. It’s embarrassing some of the attitudes on here. We lost, there was always going to be a side that lost, now we have to move on and make the best of what we are given.

chomalungma · 11/12/2020 20:14

I don't want people to suffer.
But if it's down to Brexit and they voted for Brexit, then it's turkeys voting for Christmas.

And yet they'll still continue voting for this Government that doesn't give a shit about them.

Livelovebehappy · 11/12/2020 20:15

Get a grip OP. TBH, I’ve not heard anyone regret having voted leave. Because no-one has experienced any consequences of leaving yet. We really don’t know what life will be like post Brexit. No-one knows. Unless of course you’re listening to the media’s predictions of doom and gloom, and when are they ever right? They just stir the pot. Other countries within Europe have managed fine outside the EU. Let’s just see how it goes before hyper ventilating about it.

chomalungma · 11/12/2020 20:16

But it's ok because we'll be an 'Independent coastal state' - that's the new 3 word slogan designed to suck people in.

OP posts:
Northernshepherd · 11/12/2020 20:16

You're saying if/when they suffer from it tough. I'm saying i'll still feel compassion. I won't ask how did you vote before offering sympathy if someone loses a job or struggles with God knows what. I'm happier with my approach.

DrDavidBanner · 11/12/2020 20:17

And do you think treating them like dickheads changes their opinions?

chomalungma · 11/12/2020 20:18

@DrDavidBanner

And do you think treating them like dickheads changes their opinions?
They will have to change their opinion on their own.

Europilgrim · 11/12/2020 20:18

@hollyoakswatcher It was undemocratic because it offered a binary choice where one option was not clearly defined (and in fact as we have seen, people who voted Leave wanted completely different things). It was undemocratic because so many British citizens were denied a vote. It is ridiculous to suggest merely having an election is democratic. The democracy of an election lies very much in how it is designed and carried out.

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 11/12/2020 20:18

I'm angry at those who voted Brexit, so I don't have any sympathy for the consequences they face because of it.
ESPECIALLY those who voted for racist/xnephobic/hateful reasons.

PaddyF0dder · 11/12/2020 20:19

I’m kind of done with it too. Brexit is a fucking stupid idea, and now we’re heading to “no deal”.

I’m angry. I hope that, when this bites, it hits brexit voters worst of all. I know it won’t, but it would be fairer that way. Why should it harm those not responsible.

So I’m looking at those morons in Sunderland who have likely voted them out of a job. When the nissan plant closes they will have earned it.

Hollyoakswatcher · 11/12/2020 20:19

@chomalungma you don’t want people to suffer but if it’s down to brexit then you’re happy about, yeah still pretty despicable. The only reason you don’t give a shit is because they have a different opinion than you. I think it’s really sad that you think that’s an ok attitude to have.

JacobReesMogadishu · 11/12/2020 20:19

I blame the leave campaign the most. Boris, Cummings, the lies on that bus, etc. Plenty of people fell for the lies, voted leave for “non redneck “ reasons but believed it made sense for the economy. Then by the time they realised it was bollocks we were told we couldn’t have a second referendum.

But yes, sadly plenty of idiots who are still all for it and I have no sympathy for them. Local idiots in my local fb page saying they will happily eat only beans for ever if necessary and that no food being imported is worth it. I’m not sure we grow beans in the U.K. but there you go!

PaddyF0dder · 11/12/2020 20:20

@DrDavidBanner

No. But their opinions won’t change anyway. So it doesn’t matter how they’re treated.

Europilgrim · 11/12/2020 20:20

Other countries within Europe have managed fine outside the EU.
Really? Would love to know which European countries you admire who are in our position.

chomalungma · 11/12/2020 20:21

A different opinion - and they dismissed the warnings of what would happen.

Still, what's done is done. They are going to have to live with their vote.

Hollyoakswatcher · 11/12/2020 20:22

@Europilgrim we had essentially two votes, the referendum and the general election where Brexit could of been stopped. In no other election has the result been called undemocratic, just this one.

I’m not happy with the result either but you can’t just keep coming out with embarrassing statements, there is a reason we got labelled Remoaners and threads like these are not helping.

CordeliaCroft · 11/12/2020 20:23

Totally agree OP. The leave voters in my life are already suffering from Brexit and I am delighted. Demographically the leave voters were always set to lose out more. Morons!

Livelovebehappy · 11/12/2020 20:24

We are not going to starve. Fact. Some food may be more difficult to get initially, but there will be other food to eat instead. For people to say otherwise is just scaremongering.

chomalungma · 11/12/2020 20:24

Brighterthansunflowers · 11/12/2020 20:24

YABU because it’s not just the fuckwits who wanted this who will suffer

I absolutely agree they deserve everything they get. But the rest of us bloody don’t!
