Chips with Chinese

Okay, so my favourite thread in a long time has vanished and it's left me with feelings of confusion and a yearning to know.........

Do chips belong anywhere in a Chinese takeaway?!

I think they do and would argue that they don't just belong - they MAKE a Chinese takeaway. Excuse me! Chips and curry sauce, how can these not be a part of your meal?! Duh!

YABU - Chips don't belong anywhere near my Chinese - What are you crazy?!

YANBU - OMG make mine a double portion and no going easy on that curry sauce!

I think it's about personal preference, so I don't think I can vote either way. Personally, I don't have chips with Chinese (I like lots of egg fried rice instead), but DS does like them sometimes.

I love spicy chilli chips dipped in satay sauce. I don't have them every time but they are gorgeous.

My local do an individual banquet of half a portion of rice, half a portion of chicken chow mein, 3 chicken balls and a portion of chips and a tub of sauce for £8. The chips are worth the £8 alone, triple cooked and amazing! YADNBU. but I don't like curry sauce

I've honestly never had chips with a chinese.

We get salt and chilli chips and Cantonese chicken Sweet and sour. Delicious

I’ve never understood it. DH loves it. Whenever I go out he gets a Chinese with chips, like it’s a dirty secret

I'm in Yorkshire, and chips with curry sauce is a chip shop staple, not a Chinese takeaway.

The best chips with curry sauce is from the Indian takeaway in the nearest town.

I love Chinese food, but I prefer rice or noodles with my Chinese, not chips.

YABU. Chips with curry sauce - which are fab - come from the chippie, not the Chinese takeaway.

Chinese takeaway chips are delicious (unless like McDonald’s friend just wrong)

It’s what I always order if we have Chinese (rarely) beef in black bean sauce with extra chilli and chips

Chinese chips (not salt and pepper), crispy shredded chicken, fried rice, won ton and sweet and sour sauce ... I don’t order Chinese often !!
