AIBU or is saving curry a bit weird

Never known anyone to keep leftover takeaway for the next day until DP - always thought it was a one night treat. Think it's a bit odd - is it?

OP posts:
Mydarlingsleepthief · 14/08/2020 20:20

Curry is a billion times nicer the next day!!!

Awkwarddough · 14/08/2020 20:20

Left over takeaway is awesome!! We save curry, pizza and Chinese and argue about who gets it!!

CatAnnoyance · 14/08/2020 20:20

Why?! If there's leftovers we always plate it up and put it in the fridge. Makes a nice lunch the day after - or a nice breakfast if I'm hungover Grin

QuacksInTheDark · 14/08/2020 20:21

No weirder than saving any other leftovers.

Gunpowder · 14/08/2020 20:21

No! It’s not weird it’s amazing. Just be meticulous about storing and reheating, particularly the rice.

LittleBearPad · 14/08/2020 20:21

Tbf curry will be better the next day. There’s a yummy Nigella one and she suggests making it the day before and reheating

RandomTree · 14/08/2020 20:21

YABU

LemonyFace · 14/08/2020 20:21

Perfectly normal in this house

Coldilox · 14/08/2020 20:21

I hate wasting food. And leftover curry is the food of the gods.

Roominmyhouse · 14/08/2020 20:21

I always eat most of my curry so wouldn’t have enough to keep it. But we often have leftover Chinese or pizza the following day. Not weird at all!

ludothedog · 14/08/2020 20:22

I always buy extra to have the next day Blush

NeedToKnow101 · 14/08/2020 20:23

You're weird! Always save some for the next day!

hammeringinmyhead · 14/08/2020 20:23

I used to save some, with some rice ans a bombay potato or 2, and have it the next day. So good. Now I tend to eat it all the night it arrives!

FromEden · 14/08/2020 20:23

Its weird that you think its weird tbh. Do you not keep any leftovers ever? Why would curry or takeaway be any different than those? Pizza is particularly delicious the next day!

ClickandForget · 14/08/2020 20:23

Compulsory in this house. Great for Sunday brunch.

ilovesooty · 14/08/2020 20:23

Perfectly normal. Not at all weird.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 14/08/2020 20:24

Fact
fairydustandpixies · 14/08/2020 20:24

Curry is always best for breakfast the next day! Not the rice though, avoid the rice!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 14/08/2020 20:24

Leftover Chinese is food of the gods. Reheated fried rice and reheated plain noodles, with soy sauce - delicious.

And yes, I know that rice can be hazardous if reheated, but I am always careful about cooling it and reheating it really well, and I’ve never been ill.

PleasantVille · 14/08/2020 20:24

This isn't a serious post is it?

No-one is so naive that they don't know pretty much everyone eats curry the next day are they?

Apologies OP if you are from a different culture or grew up in a different country but surely every English person knows this.

Wilsonscaresme · 14/08/2020 20:24

99% normal. YABU.

PrincessPain · 14/08/2020 20:25

We just always eat it all the first day, no matter how much we buy 😳

Winterwoollies · 14/08/2020 20:25

Would you just chuck it in the bin, OP??? Criminal.

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 14/08/2020 20:25

I make curry and freeze half. Surely that's no different?

Morfin · 14/08/2020 20:25

But that's the whole point, curry for breakfast! Cold Chinese for breakfast is my favourite tho, the noodles go like jelly yum.
