Never known anyone to keep leftover takeaway for the next day until DP - always thought it was a one night treat. Think it's a bit odd - is it?

DH and I always order and extra Thai curry to split the next day at lunch. Never thought it was weird! If we're having a take-away we often buy enough so that the leftovers last a few meals. We also often order extra vegges/rice/sides for toddler DS to have.

@fairydustandpixies why avoid the rice? It’s perfectly fine the next day.

Curry’s so much better the second day we have been known to order it the day before we want it.

@JingsMahBucket

I have also always been taught to not reheat rice!

Some takeaways send big portions. Our favourite Chinese the "set meal for two" easily feeds 3 hungry people. So saving doesn't surprise me.

Curries taste better the next day especially one you have made yourself from scratch ( I don’t mean a jar or packet mix type either) all the flavours and spices marinade the meat of veg even more.. then make some fresh roti to go with it..you never throw out a curry the same day you buy or make it.

gosh I’m dribbling, I now know what I am making tomorrow.

It's better the next day. Nothing weird about it.

Try it next time OP, you will soon learn the error of your ways and you’ll never look back.

This thread has opened up old wounds from the time I took an early finish from work so I could scran the leftover jalfrezi without having to share with DH. My mouth was watering all the way home. I’ll never get over the pain of seeing his plate in the sink and realising he’d had it for breakfast Sad

What’s wrong with reheating the rice?

If you only have a tiny bit left you can put it between two slices of bread in a sandwich toaster to make a curry toastie. Just saying.

We never have any leftovers, but would definitely try the curry breakfast toastie if we did.

@SmileTolerantly WOW!!!! what genius is this! I wouldn’t do it with regular Hovis but some Naan bread most definitely. My son would love this ( as would I)
