Never known anyone to keep leftover takeaway for the next day until DP - always thought it was a one night treat. Think it's a bit odd - is it?

Curry for breakfast is a given just like the bubble and squeek at Christmas.

There are few foods that don't taste better the next day, I had two-day old sweet and sour pork, well re-heated, it was bliss!

Well I don't think OP is returning to this one

We deliberately order too much takeaway so we've got leftovers for the next day. It's always tastes better for marinating overnight

I always do this. My takeaway does three meals, dh’s does one and he orders more than me.

You will think us very odd then- We save and freeze all our leftover curries-then add them together with more meat if needed and serve again for a complete meal!
It is lovely!!!( save and freeze the naans too-just add more garlic butter

I always over order Chinese so I can eat the leftovers cold for breakfast the next day. My husband thinks I'm mad but he likes rum and raisin, so what does he know.

God I want a curry now. And then I want it for lunch tomorrow too, because day two curry (tarka Dahl, cold on leftover naan in particular) is fucking amazing.

YABU for not having voting buttons because you would have got severely trounced.

We deliberately over order so we have another meals worth to put in the freezer for another night.

I'm eating curry right now and already looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow (or sunday).

In the nicest possible way, you are weird, really fucking weird!

Wasting food is really weird imo.

@WombOfOnesOwn

We usually eat the meats or paneer or kofta from the curry on the first day, and then on the second day, we medium boil up some eggs from our backyard flock and then cook them gently in the leftover curry sauces. Food of the gods! Egg curry is common enough in India, but not done on too many menus elsewhere, so it's a nice refresh of a previous evening meal.

Oh god, I think I love you.

So ordering extra curry sauce next time so I can do this the next day for breakfast!

Thank you!

To be frank, I think that’s the weirdest opinion anyone has ever had.

I've never known anyone not to OP - do you normally just chuck away any leftovers? That seems the odd thing to do to me..

Report
Giraffey1 · 14/08/2020 21:05

Why would you waste good food? I am unlikely to leave curry but if it did it would not be going in the food waste bi.

Curry? No I wouldn’t because I never reheat chicken.

Left over curry? What's that? 🐷

Report
Isinknot · 14/08/2020 21:07

Not weird to me, I've always been one of these grazers who is full after a quarter of a plate, then hungry later. I can't force myself to eat more in one sitting no matter how hard I try.

Weirdos who can eat full meals in one go just don't get it. Grin

A takeaway is far too much for us for one night. We get a starter, a curry and rice each and split over two nights.

YABU! Curry is so much better the next day. Not that there are many opportunities to test that theory in our house 🐷
