Ocado wants me back....

EinsteinaGogo · 27/07/2020 18:01

After playing hard to get and ghosting me for 4 months.

Well tough luck, Ocado. I'm now going out with Asda, who didn't drop me like a tonne of bricks when the shit hit the fan.

Yes, they may not have the good looks and the quirky personality, but they are reliable, dependable and delivered the goods when you couldn't and wouldn't.

Anyone else getting 'come back, I miss you messages'?*

*i may well be fickle and see two shops at a time!

Tonnes. But Asda was shite as I don't want M&S stuff from Ocado so I'm flirting with Sainsbury's.

KitchenConfidential · 27/07/2020 18:06

Hahahahaha glad I’m not the only one.
Having struggled to get any deliveries from them during most of the pandemic (despite having been a long term loyal customer), I am now getting lots of emails saying they’ve given me priority access and how valued I am.
Too fuxking late now.

killerofmen · 27/07/2020 18:08

Same but now with Morrisons. I won't go back to Ocado until they start delivering M&S food

Morrisons let me join as a new customer in April. I had shopped with Ocado for years and I would have understood limited slots but to not be allowed to book anything at all? I don't know how they got it so wrong.

babycakes1010 · 27/07/2020 18:10

I've had 2 emails so far ....after regularly ordering my shopping every week they offered nothing since march. Will never spend another penny with them...we are a key worker family and struggled even getting to the shops due to shifts let alone an online order anywhere!

Starbuggy · 27/07/2020 18:12

My mum had so much hassle with Ocado in March and April, while I had no issues with Asda apart from more subs than usual (but still sensible ones). She was literally losing sleep over it! (Higher risk but not vulnerable enough to be told to shield, and no car)

Ocado seem to have managed worse than their rivals generally speaking, and if they’re sending “come back!” Emails it suggests you’re far from the only one who jumped ship!

woodlandwalker · 27/07/2020 18:15

It's Tesco that ghosted me. I've done online shopping with Tesco since it started and have delivery saver but they had no slots for months. I can now get slots by booking one month ahead only.
Sainsbury's have had slots almost every week during lockdown. The rare occasion Sainsbury's were unavailable, Iceland had slots.

sillyrubberduck · 27/07/2020 18:16

Same here but with Tesco. I have started receiving emails from Ocado but I'm afraid is too late. Tesco carried me through lockdown with click and collect.

GoshHashana · 27/07/2020 18:16

Fuck Ocado! ASDA all the way for me now. Ocado were so arsey with me when I asked for a slot due to being pregnant.

randomchap · 27/07/2020 18:19

Ocado seemed to put prices up during March, April time. I stopped using them because of that, even if they put the prices back down, they can bugger off as they seemed to use lockdown for profiteering.

I was lucky enough to find a farm shop that would deliver a decent veg box and have stayed with them.

Floralnomad · 27/07/2020 18:19

Me too , couldn’t even get as far as the website for months so I’m now aligned to Tesco with M &S top ups courtesy of my shopping sister . I may do week on / week off with them both when they start with the M&S stuff but until then no way . I reckon Ocado must have lost lots of its old customers with how they handled this .

OverTheRainbow88 · 27/07/2020 18:19

Hahaha yes I’ve had their emails too

JassyRadlett · 27/07/2020 18:20

I managed to get Ocado slots throughout lockdown as I had a smart pass but their emails to get people ‘excited’ about the M&S partnership starting soon are just so feeble. Apart from the odd treat M&S food just doesn’t do it for me and the Ocado fruit is always sub par.

Finding Waitrose currently cheaper too (though annoying as it relies on what’s in stock at the shop).

y0rkier0se · 27/07/2020 18:21

Yes! I used Ocado religiously for nearly 5 years out of habit. After being unable to get slots during the lockdown, I switched to Asda Click & Collect. Can’t believe how much more I’m getting for my money either! Ocado’s prices have definitely crept up and I won’t be going back. Sounds like lots of people feel the same!

EinsteinaGogo · 27/07/2020 18:24

I'm not the only one then - I knew it!

It's not even the situation with needing to prioritise & offer vulnerable people slots: it was the absolute refusal to recognise any prior customer loyalty and the complete absence of acknowledgement.

I'm never playing second fiddle in this relationship again, Ocado.

(Unless it suits me. Ha!(

I'm getting them too, but for half of my three months new customer delivery pass I was barely allowed on the website. I think I can book three days in advance, lucky me. I just happened to join up in February (they've not long been in the area)

Have always been a Sainsbury's delivery pass holder, but that is a little problematic at present as trying to juggle holiday deliveries around their one delivery a week policy. However Morrisons have given me a three month free pass and there is always Iceland.

Richlyfruited · 27/07/2020 18:29

Yep I got a text from Ocado today offering me a slot for the first time in months! When I looked they've massively ramped up their delivery charges and the available slots were all £7.99 Shock

I ditched my smart pass in April as they dumped me during lockdown and I couldn't get a slot plus I'm really not interested in M&S food Hmm

I'm just shopping at our local Waitrose now - expensive but manageable if just buying what's on offer.

Ginfordinner · 27/07/2020 18:31

They have started texting and emailing me as well. I haven't used them for years.

Clearyweary · 27/07/2020 18:32

Another one here on the verge of dumping Ocado. Could t book a delivery for ages, and when I could the stock and substituons were crazy. The prices have risen so much and they are always out of stock of the basics. Had to order pasta recently. No waitrose essentials in stock, cheapest was £1.99 a bag (as opposed to about 70p per bag). Same with lots of other stock. So expensive now, I won’t be renewing my smart pass.

lobster12 · 27/07/2020 18:33

I've also had their emails. I couldn't get a slot at all during lockdown and even if I could it was 6.99 delivery charge!!!! I felt like they were taking advantage so I didn't book.

I couldn't get an Asda either. Only supermarket del I could get was tesco and the rest of the time I shopped at local farm shops. I'm pregnant and have a toddler was was really hard to go to the supermarket. Hubby works for nhs and was always working. I'm happy to stick with Tesco now. Funnily enough I don't miss ocado and thought I would.

justthecat · 27/07/2020 18:36

I’ve had a couple off Ocado now, which didn’t want to know me not so long ago, so they can do one.
Sticking with Asda

Catlover77 · 27/07/2020 18:37

Me too at being ghosted by Ocado! I have had the numerous messages but I would not go back to Ocado now; I will stick with Tesco

Celticdawn5 · 27/07/2020 18:38

I am an ASDA click and collect convert too.

AnneOfQueenSables · 27/07/2020 18:38

Morrisons is my new love. It was Tesco that dumped me and tbh I may dally with them occasionally in the future but we're never going steady ever again.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 27/07/2020 18:40

But, if you don't go back to Ocado, you'll never get to meet Jesus in the Cabbage Van!
