I’m hiding at my sewing machine while DH watches a film with the kids - I lose my mind if I can’t be in a room alone for a few hours.

I sometimes hide in my car just to escape 🙁

It's full on, isn't it? I'm hiding in my room like a teenager at the moment and DH is fielding the chaos. I'm shielding, so we're all shielding - five of us stuck under the same roof for every hour of ever day for - how many weeks now? - eight weeks? Fuuuck

I cant wait to be in a pub with my friends and family. Drink flowing, ordering everything off the menu to share and everyone chatting at the same time.
DH can stay at home with dd.

I get you. Going to Tesco on my own feels like an all inclusive holiday in the Maldives at the moment.

I get up at 6.15 just to do yoga and sit, alone, for a little while. Loo breaks don't work as one or other child is usually hammering on the door to tell me something.

Go to bed with Netflix for a 'nap' that lasts a few hours.

Yes. I am so with you. I work with the public all day and night. Then come home and family always here. Even the dog is flipping ON me. Usually they are at work or school so I can recover from a night shift in peace. It's awful.

I was feeling like this a few weeks ago. There was always someone in the room I needed to be in, there's only 3 of us in the house how is that possible.
I started taking myself out for early morning walks or asking DP to take dd out on their own so I could just enjoy some me time.

We're not too bad at going off by ourselves to different areas of the house, but it's just the constant low level noise. Always somebody talking, the Xbox, the dog, the TV, the dishwasher - I just want silence!

I know what you mean, I miss being by myself. Can you carve out some time by yourself!

I love my family dearly, but Christ alive! I work part time do normally have some time on my own in the house. I miss it.

I'm struggling too. Have missed 3 weekends away since being in lockdown. Kids haven't left my side. I dont have adult conversation daily just the kids (9+14) then the teen (19) comes home but he isolated away from us as is a key worker. I miss my free time. I miss my friends who really are my family. Despite all this I'm glad we are all safe so far although my best friend has been tested today for covid and she is a nurse. I'm praying she's ok.

It’s just me and 3 yo DS. In 8 weeks I’ve had probably 4 meaningful “real life” interactions with another adult... you know chatting to a neighbour in the street at a distance etc.
DS is amazing. Brilliant. Fun. But I’m desperate for 24 hours “off duty”. Alone. Solo. I want to take a shit by myself. Read a chapter of a book without someone pulling up my top to blow raspberries on my belly. Just stare into space.

Don’t get the evenings to do these things as have to catch up on work and stupidly started renovating the house just before lockdown. Idiot.

Because mine are teens, and are currently playing x box. I'm in the bath. Dh is down snoozing on the sofa, after we all spent all day cleaning, polishing, vacuuming and shampooing Dh's new (second hand car), bought, whilst still performing social distancing.

But even when they were babies, I've always had time on my own and space.

I’m currently hiding in the kitchen 😂 I usually use the time when I’m cooking for me. I love cooking, tonight it’s aubergine parmigiana.

Thankfully my husband understands, he’s currently wrangling the toddler. It’s just hard.

DH and DD are just so “HERE” all the time.

I rely on solitude to recharge and I’m not getting nearly enough.

I love them both dearly but by Christ they are always just so “here”!
