For the first time in a while, DH and I decided to have a movie night. We saw Hereditary pop up in a few "worth watching" lists.

possible spoilers

Wow is that over 2 hours we will never get back! I was so excited at the start, ticked all the right boxes. It honestly had so much potential, but as time went on the movie still wasn't picking up the pace and I was wondering how they would wrap it up with not much time spare. The ending felt quite rushed, and left me feeling disappointed. I wasn't quite sure why the people had to naked towards the end aswell?!

Please share the worst movie you have endured, so I can double check when I next recommend a movie Grin

Foxcatcher - I thought it was a film about murder with a bit of wrestling. Alas, it was a film about wrestling with an tiny bit of murder. It was sooooooo boring

This is coming from someone who thought The Spice Girl film was good.

Spice World is a cult film waiting to be discovered.

The words 'cult film' have become almost meaningless these days. Everything that isn't mainstream is described as 'cult'. It's a marketing label. It used to mean something back in the Midnight Movie days when like-minded types would gather to watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show or El Topo but these days meh! I even saw Forbidden Planet described as a cult film the other day. It was never a cult film it was a Hollywood film that did moderately well and people still regard with affection. that's like saying The Maltese Falcon is a cult film. Or Casablanca.

A real cult film has to be one that no one admits to actually liking in case they get ridiculed. One day they accidentally find someone else in the same situation and an instant bond is forged. They find others... a cult!

I'm sticking my hand up. I think Spice World is great. Or as Jools Holland's character said in it - "absolutely perfect without really being any good at all."
