For the first time in a while, DH and I decided to have a movie night. We saw Hereditary pop up in a few "worth watching" lists.

possible spoilers

Wow is that over 2 hours we will never get back! I was so excited at the start, ticked all the right boxes. It honestly had so much potential, but as time went on the movie still wasn't picking up the pace and I was wondering how they would wrap it up with not much time spare. The ending felt quite rushed, and left me feeling disappointed. I wasn't quite sure why the people had to naked towards the end aswell?!

Please share the worst movie you have endured, so I can double check when I next recommend a movie Grin

Dirty dancing. Can not stand it.

MrFaceyRomford · 03/04/2020 01:22

The original David Niven & Peter Sellars Casino Royale. The worst movie ever made.

Jupiters · 03/04/2020 02:29

Birdman. Several hours of my life I'm not getting back.

Any film where the director, writer and star is the same person (just watched Space 2020 and I'm still fuming!)

ArriettyJones · 03/04/2020 02:50

Knowing with Nicholas Cage. So bad it’s hilarious.

Saw an even worse one last week but I’ve forgotten the name. It’ll come to me.

Farheatarse · 03/04/2020 03:28

The Favourite. Why it got the praise it got I will never know. Awful music which I suppose was trying to be edgy, bad OTT acting from Olivia Colman, who annoys me at the best of times, and weirdly edited non-plot.

Troll 2

I seen Hereditary in the cinema. We never left because we kept thinking there would be a twist. Didn’t think it could be that bad! Someone said Once upon a time in Hollywood. I liked that!

KC225 · 03/04/2020 07:14

Matrix - so boring
Velvet Goldmine - even more boring
The Irishman - De Niro, Pacino & Pesci are hopelessly miscast being about 30 years too old for the parts. The attempts on making Robert De Niro younger with clumsy vaudeville make up was embarrassing.

KC225 · 03/04/2020 07:16

Oh and Dogville - they couldn't be arsed to build a set, just drew it on the floor.

Yallreadyforthis · 03/04/2020 07:33

Yes, The Favourite! Terrible, terrible film.

Hairmystery · 03/04/2020 08:38

Freddy got fingered is one of my most hated films. Made to believe i didnt have a sense of humor by ExH but I'm certain now it's just awful.

grumpymacgrumpface · 03/04/2020 12:56

A Quiet Place. Got great reviews and people kept telling me it was terrifying. It's only about 90 minutes long but seems to go on for several days. And - spoiler alert - are we seriously expected to believe that while there was still a functioning government and scientific community no-one would have worked out that creatures with incredibly sensitive hearing might not like loud high-pitched noises?

Barnowl25 · 03/04/2020 13:20

I love a good bad movie - just watched Infection Z.which had everything.- the woman who got her tits out died, bad wigs, ridiculous deep voices, ridiculously bad acting, long tense pauses, very bad plot and a granny who eats everyone. It was bloody marvelous!!

Thecurtainsofdestiny · 03/04/2020 13:22

Field of Dreams. It won't be any better now than it was 30 years ago.

Twooter · 03/04/2020 13:24

Naked lunch

SharonasCorona · 03/04/2020 13:27

I can’t watch Notting Hill and Love Actually. I cringed all through them.

Really bad movies - Sharknado!

Ivebeentohellanditscalledikea · 03/04/2020 13:27

The new one called The Platform on Netflix. it started ok but just made no sense.

The worst film I've ever seen has to be The Village it's just someone stumbling round in the woods for half the film.

Rosehip10 · 03/04/2020 13:28

Johnny Depp's "from hell"

Soubriquet · 03/04/2020 13:28

Beaster Bunny. My dh loves million dollar movies but even he was like Hmm

How it ends. I really enjoyed it...till it left it at a really shitty ending and I don’t know how it ends!

Jojobythesea · 03/04/2020 13:31

@nzborn agreed re Sharknado but kind of found them SO bad they were almost like a spoof 😂😂

Splice. It was honestly the worst film I've ever sat through. It drags half way through and I wish I had turned it off then so I didn't have to endure the ending!! Horrific.

Human centipede. It's just a porno for people with excrement fetishises. I didn't even get to the end with that one! And there was a Texas chainsaw massacre sequel that was so terrible DH and I walked out of the cinema.

Usually I quite like films that are so terrible they're good (Fast and Furious etc).

LittleCandle · 03/04/2020 13:32

Titanic - could have been done in 20 minutes or less.
Saving Private Ryan - I really didn't care if they saved him or not.
The second lot of Star Wars films. I suffered through the first and when XH bought tickets for the second, I seriously thought of doing him violence, but then DD2 saved me by puking halfway through and I got to go home with her!
