For the first time in a while, DH and I decided to have a movie night. We saw Hereditary pop up in a few "worth watching" lists.

possible spoilers

Wow is that over 2 hours we will never get back! I was so excited at the start, ticked all the right boxes. It honestly had so much potential, but as time went on the movie still wasn't picking up the pace and I was wondering how they would wrap it up with not much time spare. The ending felt quite rushed, and left me feeling disappointed. I wasn't quite sure why the people had to naked towards the end aswell?!

Please share the worst movie you have endured, so I can double check when I next recommend a movie Grin

Jurassic Park 3. Nothing really happened and then suddenly it was the end credits and I remember saying "Was that it?".

(I enjoyed the earlier films and the Jurassic World films that came out afterwards).

Chemenger · 03/04/2020 17:58

Cowboys and Aliens. It’s total lack of humour really destroys it. If they had had even a few light hearted moments it could have been fun.

Taddda · 03/04/2020 18:03

The Beach - I loved the book, the film was so miscast, and wrong!

Hideous Kinky- just, well, hideous

(Pp mentioned Wolf Creek Shock, watched that in similar circumstances, took me 3 days of binge watching 'friends' just to get my mind back into a better place!)

milkjetmum · 03/04/2020 18:17

@TheSandman been a while but I remember enjoying the AVP films, nice silly fun and liked the bishop appearance and Adrian Brody one. Not a hardline alien purist (I saw alien3 first which I know others don't like) but honestly covenant upset me with its ineptitude though I secretly loved rewatching it on film4 and slagging it off all the way through

Dutch1e · 03/04/2020 18:20

Pearl Harbour. Fucking hell, I was ready to volunteer as a Kamikaze pilot by halfway through. And STILL kept watching it, which means I'm even more stupid than the film.

Newbie1999 · 03/04/2020 18:22

‘It Comes At Night’.

Spoiler - nothing comes at night, or any other time of day

BubblyBarbara · 03/04/2020 18:45

Hereditary is a fantastic movie. However if you want to deliberately watch a hilariously bad movie then The Room cannot be beat

TildaKauskumholm · 03/04/2020 18:47

Pretty Woman
The first new star wars film

strawberry2017 · 03/04/2020 18:48

Xanadu is pretty terrible as is War of the Worlds!

Was up most of the night watching whatever i could find on TV (spring watch) after it trying to get it out of head, was so disturbed.
I would however say it's actually a v good horror film.

GilbertMarkham · 03/04/2020 19:07

Alexander - very long and boring.

The brothers Grimm has so many good aspects but is also very long and meandering and hard to keep watching - don't think I've managed to watch it through yet.

Closer.
I curse like a sailor and am distinctly non prudish (quite vulgar in fact) but it was really disgusting and cringey.

GilbertMarkham · 03/04/2020 19:08

Any of the Sex and the City films but esp the one set in the middle East.

GilbertMarkham · 03/04/2020 19:10

First hobbit film, found it v boring. Thankfully they picked up with the second and third.

Taddda · 03/04/2020 19:13

@GilbertMarkham Agreed, as far as horror movies go it certainly did the job!

UnagiSalmonSkinRoll · 03/04/2020 19:14

I watched this movie called Gallowalkers with Weskey Snipes years ago, it was absolutely awful and if anyone has ever watched Hoodrat let me know, as that was one of the worst movies but absolutely astounding how it was passed to be released Grin

Owlypants · 03/04/2020 19:26

Hereditary was awful. @tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz midnight meat train was just confusing, I still haven't worked out nipples.

rosegoldwatcher · 03/04/2020 19:36

There have been many that i have given up on at home but only one that i have walked out on at the cinema. 1985 - Friday evening choice of fellow film buff - CLUE starring Tim Curry. Abismal and so cheesy it should have been called Cheddar.

OneKeyAtATime · 03/04/2020 19:37

Hostel
The lobster
Bridesmaids
Knowing
Antechrist

I had never heard of The room but want to watch it now!

Otterseatpuffinsdontthey · 03/04/2020 19:39

Managed about 15 - 20 minutes of "The Shape of Water". Absolutely awful.

Booboooo · 03/04/2020 19:47

Shallow fecking Hal

GeorgieSparks · 03/04/2020 19:52

Couples retreat, just awful!
Snakes on a plane and the second sex and the city are terrible too

bakingdemon · 03/04/2020 19:56

I started watching the remake of Aladdin on Disney+ and it's awful. And DH and I watched the Netflix film about Robert the Bruce because we know one of the locations and it was very bad.

Barnowl25 · 03/04/2020 19:58

@Doublevodka dd and I saw it.at the cinema and walked out.halfway through as did many others total garbage

Chopbob · 03/04/2020 19:59

The Libertine with Johnny Depp was just bizzare. He rode in on a giant Papier-mâché penis in the end. Hilarious! We went to see it at the cinema and so many people walked out 😂

StealthPolarBear · 03/04/2020 20:02

Boogie woogie with Joanna lumley
