For the first time in a while, DH and I decided to have a movie night. We saw Hereditary pop up in a few "worth watching" lists.

possible spoilers

Wow is that over 2 hours we will never get back! I was so excited at the start, ticked all the right boxes. It honestly had so much potential, but as time went on the movie still wasn't picking up the pace and I was wondering how they would wrap it up with not much time spare. The ending felt quite rushed, and left me feeling disappointed. I wasn't quite sure why the people had to naked towards the end aswell?!

Please share the worst movie you have endured, so I can double check when I next recommend a movie Grin

Hereditary is amazing OP! I admit it's very slow and I fell asleep the first time I watched it, but there's so much going and nuggets of info you need to read between the lines for. The second time I watched it I really paid attention and loved it.
One of the worst films I watched was In the Tall Grass.

ImSpeakingFigurativelyOfCourse · 03/04/2020 14:41

American Hustle. Watched it and kept waiting for something to happen, but it didn't.

elQuintoConyo · 03/04/2020 14:46

Primer 2004 seen it twice, still don't understand it. So it's shit Grin

Oh brother where art thou.
Avatar.
Straight story.
Bridesmaids
Hangover 1 (1 was enough to watch, i hear there are sequels)
Spy Kids 3 STEEEEEAMING PILE OF SHITE!
SpongeBob movie 2 (1 was peerless!)
Mamma Mia
Locke. If there was a Razzy-style prize for Most Useless Film About a Shitty Mysogynist thatd'd get it, hands down. Hideous. Hideous. Hideous.

ButterbuttSquash · 03/04/2020 14:50

Bounce, a reaaaaally fucking boring film with Affleck and Paltrow in it.

Taddda · 03/04/2020 14:57

Anything with Jean Claude Van Damme, Steven Seagal, Kristen Stewart (resting bitch face..), post 2010 Nicolas Cage (what happened there!!?)...

Oh, Brawl in Cell block 99 was a recent find....painful!!

SkaLaLand · 03/04/2020 15:00

Aw I can't believe nobody had said lala land or into the woods yet!

Also yoga hosers and sausage party.

Once upon a time in Hollywood is a slow burner. Ending is great though.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 03/04/2020 15:03

Poltergeist the most recent one from few years ago.Bag of shite that couldnt decide if it was a comedy or a horror.

Liverpool52 · 03/04/2020 15:03

I'm sure I've posted this before but The Watchmen. So long, absolutely dull with the most unnecessarily long sex scene in the middle. You could hear everybody in the cinema shifting uncomfortably in their seats.

I understand they've now made a tv series. Not stupid enough to waste more hours of my life on that pile of crap.

TheSandman · 03/04/2020 15:05

another top tip for a bad movie experience is to d watch anything by Jess Franco.

You've plenty to choose from.

www.imdb.com/name/nm0001238/

He directed 200+ films. Most of them indescribably bad. At least one of them now illegal to watch in the UK

Sapphiresunrise · 03/04/2020 15:06

Already been mentioned but The Room !! It's honestly so bad it's good, you will quote it forever afterwards.

ButterbuttSquash · 03/04/2020 15:06

Oh, I hated La La Land. Everyone kept wanging on about how great it was and how much I would love it. Hell no.

Doublevodka · 03/04/2020 15:09

I watched Midsommar last week. It had 83% on Rotten Tomatoes so thought I'd give it a go. It was absolute garbage.

jay55 · 03/04/2020 15:11

That's my boy, Adam Sandler and Adam Samberg. Watched it yesterday and am still recovering

JennysTailor · 03/04/2020 15:14

Jumping ahead to say 'Hangman' with Al Pacino and Brittany Snow. Jesus Christ, it was just, awful. It's as if someone made a satirical version of Se7en. There is an excellent review of if online somewhere. Al Pacino has pretty much given up and is there for a money while Brittany Snow is desperately giving her all. It's on Netflix if anyone fancies a laugh. Off to RTFT now.

PeskyRooks · 03/04/2020 15:17

Ted is the worst film ever made.
Followed by Who's That Girl. Literally unwatchable.
Once upon a time in Hollywood absolute bollocks so disappointed sold it on eBay after one watch..
Horror fans avoid Possum..just what???
So many bad films out there too many to mention..
Hot tub time machine..
Brotherhood of The Wolf...
Farmageddon bought it for the kids we loved Sean the Sheep the movie, this however was ridiculously dull the alien/dog wasn't even cute at all!

RingPiece · 03/04/2020 15:37

Drunk Parents - it's on sky cinema at the moment.

FooFighter99 · 03/04/2020 15:41

Cube (1997)

Absolutely dreadful!

JennysTailor · 03/04/2020 15:42

Oh my God and there was another one, I think on Netflix but I can't remember the title. It centred around a cockney sounding journalist or copper who, although he had a nice submissive wife at home, slept with a younger woman and made a deal with the devil or something. Oh God, it was truly terrible. He reminded me of Chris Moyles. I wish I could remember the title. Also they were stuck in a lift I think, or maybe that was another film.

Lonelycrab · 03/04/2020 15:43

The Lake House starring Keanu Reeves. Utter utter shite. Was the first movie I went to see with the ex 14 years back.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 03/04/2020 15:43

I liked La La Land!

Three Amigos is dire.

Any film with Nicholas Cage makes me break out in hives and run screaming from the room.

JennysTailor · 03/04/2020 15:44

Oh no, I think the lift one had Chris Medinas (?)- Danny from the Mindy Project- in as the obligatory tormented copper.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 03/04/2020 15:46

@Thecurtainsofdestiny Field of Dreams was THIRTY years ago?!!?! Man I feel old.

I quite liked it though

BradleyCooperwillbemine · 03/04/2020 15:46

La La Land
John Wick 3 - loved the first 2, walked out of the 3rd.

Purpletigers · 03/04/2020 15:47

Moulin rouge . Can’t get past the first 5 minutes .
I love the sharknado movies . They’re so bad they’re good .

rainbowcakes · 03/04/2020 15:48

The Keith Lemon movie. Just toe-curlingly dreadful
