I am not stockpiling. Tesco delivery came at 630pm but no bog roll as out of stock. We have half a roll left!! Who's got my rolls?!?

Just got home from doing my weekly shop in Aldi and the shelves are near bare! One person in the queue saw a lad putting out their remaining 12pks of loo roll and ran off to get one, this started a stampede causing the poor lad to leave them and flee. I despair if something really catastrophic ever happens!

Caught red-handed!

To ask who has my bog roll?
CSIblonde · 13/03/2020 18:53

All the corner shops & pound shops near me in NE London plenty of 4pack loo roll, pasta, rice, paracetamol & tinned goods. All the staff at nearest (huge) corner shop have always worn gloves anyway so I feel I'd rather stick to them at moment as they're as cheap as Asda on basics & I can go v v late when it's practically empty.

Sbnd · 13/03/2020 18:56

Plenty of newspapers in the shops, could use in place of bog roll!

DontCallMeShitley · 13/03/2020 18:59

Who Gives a Crap is fine if you are used to very thin paper that disintegrates easily. If I wanted that I would just get the cheap value stuff from Lidl. I stopped buying their Floralys when they stopped selling the better one and only had the really thin stuff.

My Ebay order arrived today, so the office will be OK. Assuming the company doesn't go bust.

Bloody stupid, selfish, greedy twats have it... They are so stupid they do not realize the virus does not cause diarrhea! Stupid FUCKERS!

Praguemum · 13/03/2020 19:34

I bet all the old people who grew up wiping with squares of newspaper are pissing themselves laughing at our whining. Here in NZ we have a drought so it's a double whammy if you're in rainwater tanks like us!

notthemum · 13/03/2020 20:39

@loobieloo4. My local poundshop is selling 3 pkts paracetamol for a quid. There is probably only 8 in a pkt but better than none. Also I was v ill early last year and may have quite a few boxes if you want me to look? Pm me if you do.

cuparfull · 13/03/2020 20:46

Hubby's offered to use just two pieces each loo visit... dirty bugger! So our meagre stocks may last.
Might buy some mega packs of easily washable blue J clothes so be aware shortages might arise Blush
I have contributed to the shortage of masks however. Needed just two for our painter chap working in the cellar.
Days passed with no stock anywhere then suddenly became available in my online store but only in packs of 10 masks so I have 8 masks spare.

AllDruggedUpWithNowhereToGo · 13/03/2020 20:46

It wasn’t me... I don’t use toilet roll.

TabbyMumz · 13/03/2020 21:20

Our Aldi is full of toilet roll, but short on meat and bread.

AmIbeingtoomean · 13/03/2020 21:23

I have 150 rolls but this is due to getting a ludicrously good groupon deal about 6 months ago on a ridiculous joblot which worked out (did a price comparsion with the supermarkets and my calculator Blush) better than buying own brand. I did have the loft space to store them though.

AmIbeingtoomean · 13/03/2020 21:26

People sneer at preppers but we are the ones NOT panic buying and ruining supply chains when the shit hits the fan.

aroundtheworldyet · 13/03/2020 21:27

Everyone on here is saying they’ve had them for months.
So who is going to own up to this. I mean genuinely own up to it

aroundtheworldyet · 13/03/2020 21:28

@amlbeingtoomean
Yeah, but your kids will be the ones throwing out hundred of cans of 20 yr old tins when you die.

Beesisabuzzin · 13/03/2020 21:33

Wasn't me - I'm yet another prepper who got it in weeks ago. I did panic buy a bottle of gin yesterday though.

Beesisabuzzin · 13/03/2020 21:34

And preppers aren't dumb, we buy the stuff we know we're going to use. No throwing away needed, just smaller shops for the rest of the year.

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 13/03/2020 22:26

God I never thought I would say this - I’m so glad I’ve got a colostomy bag!!! Grin

Monkeynuts18 · 13/03/2020 22:30

There’s a special place in hell for people stockpiling paracetamol and calpol. Loo roll, whatever. But CALPOL, no.

Hangingwithmygnomies · 13/03/2020 23:28

Agree @Monkeynuts18!! My 3 year old is poorly (a constant thing since he started nursery) is currently on his 3rd lot of antibiotics in 3 weeks due to a chronic ear infection and no calpol to be found in my local supermarket. Fortunately I had picked up a bottle last week as we were on our last dose but if he carries on the way he is, we'll run out of that soon and he'll be in pain again with his ear - and we all no earache is a complete bitch!

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 14/03/2020 00:06

Just went to my local pharmacy to get my medication
They had the small bottles of hand gel - and were kept under the counter like some drug!
They were £4 each or 3 for £11!!! Daylight robbery - that sort of thing should be banned!!!

TheLittleDogLaughed · 14/03/2020 05:22

All these years I’ve sighed and raised my eyebrows at DH for his bargain-hunting and stockpiling tendencies but it has now meant we are very well prepared.

deandra · 14/03/2020 06:55

Amen to that 😂😂😂😂
