I am not stockpiling. Tesco delivery came at 630pm but no bog roll as out of stock. We have half a roll left!! Who's got my rolls?!?

Our mahoosive Tesco has imposed a limit of 5 items. And they carefully count out your 5 tins of peas, 5 kitchen cleaner etc. That's the most they can do. What they can't do is stop people sticking it in the car and going round again, or families going with 4 adults each with a trolley.
I often wondered how my generation would have coped in a war. I think I'm finding out!

You're right, we wouldn't. It's largely all me and mine now. As long as I'm working from home, my children are off school, can get online deliveries and access to healthcare if needed I don't care, not my issue to think about. If there was a call for volunteers I doubt many people would offer, it's sad really.

okiedokieme · 12/03/2020 08:00

Lidl has loads yesterday

TreatBag · 12/03/2020 09:10

@loubieloo4 I couldn’t get paracetamol either but (ironically) managed to get cold and flu tablets which contain paracetamol. Would anything like that help?

Cost me 3x the price but I get bad headaches which leave me being sick if I don’t treat them and nothing else works. Sorry to hear about your DH’s health Flowers

Rainyrain · 12/03/2020 10:51

A lady who works in my local m&s told me people had been stealing the huge loo rolls they have in their customer toilets!

Tessie87 · 12/03/2020 10:58

@Boom45 I too have that image now and I love it 😂

Potionqueen · 12/03/2020 11:03

He he he stolen by me.

loubieloo4 · 12/03/2020 11:04

@TreatBag

Our friends and family have managed to bring us enough to last just over 2 weeks, hopefully the panic buying will have stopped by then.

shinyredbus · 12/03/2020 11:05

We have a bidet so not such an issue but - we have loo roll (we got 24 delivered early this month) Waitrose round here have loads of everything. Except cider. :-(

Lunafortheloveogod · 12/03/2020 11:10

It’s the bugger who bought all the beans!

Not surprised they need a ton of loo roll.. no baked beans of any variety in 3 big shops, I’m just a big ol’preggy lady who wanted a baked potato with cheesy beans. I’d look in daft places for loo roll, ours came from a fruit n veg corner shop (probably one of the bandits that robbed Tesco n sell it on)

UsernameUnknownn · 12/03/2020 11:13

It's crazy! Lidl seem to be stocked up well on toilet roll at the moment! You'll have people selling toilet rolls in alley ways soon a long with the essentials. It isn't drug dealers police will worry about anymore Grin

BananaChocolateLump · 12/03/2020 11:16

I didn't push my sub to who gives a crap back as I intended I had about 22 rolls left and have now added 48 more. I didn't panic buy Im just brain dead

AmericanAdventure · 12/03/2020 11:22

You can't really bulk buy paracetamol. You can only buy two paracetamol containing items at a time. I was in my local boots yesterday getting gentle hand cream for my kids who have both now got contact dermatitis from all the vigorous handwashing in school, and they had loads of paracetamol and cold and flu medicines.... They even had some hand-wash Shock

DontCallMeShitley · 12/03/2020 11:22

@Ginkypig

*I bulkbuy my toilet roll and kitchen roll online. normally it lasts me 3ish months. unrelated to all this needed to buy more and it was due today but hasn't turned up!

Iv not checked as the order is on dp's email but It better not have been cancelled*

Did you get your order? Ours didn't arrive this week and a refund e.mail arrived instead.

Has anyone received an Amazon TP delivery this week? I hate Amazon at the best of times, it seems like a kind of pot luck place to buy.

I did find some on Ebay if anyone is desperate, and not overpriced (normal sized packs, not bulk) but the postage puts the cost up.

Fluffybutter · 12/03/2020 11:23

It’s fucking ridiculous.
We buy 9 rolls every 2/3 weeks and I can’t get any , I’m down to 2 rolls for 3 toilets.
I don’t want to stock pile anything , I just want to be able to get my normal bloody shopping .
People are dicks

Greentea93 · 12/03/2020 11:24

Boom45 what do you think people need toilet roll for 🙄🙄 I agree no one needs 100 rolls but I’ve got about 30 for 4 of us. I don’t think it’s unreasonable people get abit more stock in. It’s not just young people, I’ve seen older people in shops with a few packs. No one knows how this corona virus is going to pan out and if we are stuck with “flu like” symptoms me or DH won’t be able to go to shops if we do run out do most people like to be prepared for that 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fluffybutter · 12/03/2020 11:28

@Greentea93 Most of those who are otherwise healthy will have no or very mild symptoms

Greentea93 · 12/03/2020 11:32

Fluffy butter fair enough that’s what they say but even if people have mild symptoms they shouldn’t go out shopping anyway to avoid spreading

Itsallgonewoowoo · 12/03/2020 11:38

Think yourselves lucky, someone took half our roll, right across the centre!

redwoodmazza · 12/03/2020 11:49

Someone on GumTree near me is selling 4 squares [Yes SQUARES] for 50p!!! Admittedly they are unused but wtf?

MyTwoPence · 12/03/2020 11:49

Paracetamol supply near me has been patchy since well before covid-19 became an issue, so I'm not sure that particular one is due to panic buying. Prior to having surgery earlier this year I was needing to take paracetamol for months at a time and I'd been stockpiling it since last summer (my stocks never got particularly high of it because obviously you can only buy two packs at a time, but I was buying a couple of packs whenever I saw it in stock as regularly it would be out of stock in my local Tesco).

The epitome of 'piss take'Grin

peachescariad · 12/03/2020 12:03

People will be looking for small fluffy dogs to wipe their fucking stupid arses on next

Oh How I laughed

ErrolTheDragon · 12/03/2020 12:15

There is a theory that one of the reasons humans domesticated dogs was because they were good at cleaning up small children, in the same way they'd care for a puppy.

I'm always pleased when I see animals cleaning their young that we're the species which invented the flannel.

ArriettyJones · 12/03/2020 12:31

I always buy 48 or 54 at a time on amazon. So they’re mine. (And I always have a full larder and freezer. So all that’s mine too.)

The stress of being down to my last half loo roll would give me a dodgy tummy.

I will lend you a couple though if you’re desperate Envy
