Hey everyone, I came across this Loewe bag a few months ago and i feel like i'm really into it, however not sure whether it's worth buying it for this amount of money (I mean it's just a basket bag). What do you think of it and would you get it?
this is the bag www.mytheresa.com/en-gb/loewe-medium-leather-trimmed-basket-tote-1465320.html?catref=category
thanks x

£325 for that?! Seriously? You must have loads of money to burn.

brummiesue · 04/03/2020 13:25

I wouldn't but it's all relative, I would spend that on shoes. If you have the money spare then buy it!

OldGrinch · 04/03/2020 13:26

It's awful you could get something much nicer in Primark for a tenner Confused

DailyMailHater · 04/03/2020 13:26

Shock £325 - not sure I could ever justify that...there is one in joules for £33...doubtvsnyine would know which is more expensive if you put them side by side

Horrible. Don't like the white square bit at the front.

Notajogger · 04/03/2020 13:26

YABU. It's a crazy price and will get manky quickly. Plus you'd only want to use it for a couple/few months of the year.

NoBoojustNo · 04/03/2020 13:27

No I wouldn't waste my money on what's basically a straw basket.

If you like it and can afford it without getting upset when it falls apart then buy it.

Campurp · 04/03/2020 13:28

Unless you live on a Caribbean island or are a millionaire, I wouldn’t.

abfluent · 04/03/2020 13:28

@OldGrinch i know, but i feel like there is a story behind this bag (it's hand made) while there is no story behind Primark things and everyone wears them

I suppose it just depends how much £325 is to you, it's all relative so other people's experiences aren't really relevant.

As basket bags go it's nice enough.

TruffleShuffles · 04/03/2020 13:34

I’m desperately trying to convince myself not to buy the small one. Every time I go to buy it I convince myself it’s just a straw bag and in no way worth the price, I can’t possible buy a cheap copy though so I’ll just do without.

If you have the money and love it then go for it.

SilverySurfer · 04/03/2020 13:35

It's not something I think is nice enough at that price but your money, your choice.

BarbaraofSeville · 04/03/2020 13:35

I don't like the white square on the side, which ironically, I think it makes it look cheap.

If you can afford it, buy it, but most won't think it's nicer, worth more or any better quality than a similar bag costing about a tenth of the price.

Grumpos · 04/03/2020 13:38

It’s a lot of money for a bag you can only use a few mths of the year and also it doesn’t look very secure, it’s extremely open.

If 325£ To you is the equivalent of 20 quid to most people then sure get it if it makes you happy. But if it’s a fair whack of money then I’d probably find something less expensive and then buy some nice sunglasses too!

Dontsweatthelittlestuff · 04/03/2020 13:38

No way would I pay £325 for something that looks like a beach bag my mum had in the 70‘S

Nearlyalmost50 · 04/03/2020 13:40

I would not pay this for a basket/woven bag because they catch on things and the woven bit goes tatty and rubbish after a year or so.

I can see the value of some leather upmarket handbags, but not this one, it doesn't look worth it and it won't wear well.

alltoomuchrightnow · 04/03/2020 13:42

why am i not seeing a white square?

Jaxhog · 04/03/2020 13:42

Well, I wouldn't pay that much for a basket! I might for a really gorgeous leather bag though.

Rosehip10 · 04/03/2020 13:43

You are being ripped off. Seen similar bags for a few pounds.

alltoomuchrightnow · 04/03/2020 13:43

I would say no, silly price as bound to fray very quickly, get something longer lasting

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 04/03/2020 13:43

A story behind it,oh puhlease!Hmm

It's a hideous looking thing imo and the only story is the fact it's way to expensive for what it is. There are far nicer bags out there with nice stories.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 04/03/2020 13:44

The Amazon one is much nicer.

WaggleWiggle · 04/03/2020 13:44

I think it’s hugely overpriced given it’s mainly straw!

sunshinesupermum · 04/03/2020 13:45

£325 on that? Never in a million years. Think how much the person who made it gets ...
