I’m not asking if you love your children or if you wish they wertent around as I’m sure now you have them you wouldn’t change a thing.

But, I want to know, if you are being totally honest, If you had your time again would you still chose to have children?

Yes. It has been the great adventure of my life.

Fatted · 29/02/2020 21:43

I think I would have tried to have had them earlier. I'm almost 40 and knackered with a 7YO and almost 4YO. I'm secretly jealous of friends my age whose DC are approaching their teens.

museumum · 29/02/2020 21:43

I would still choose to have the one child I chose to have. I knew “children” would be much more overwhelming than one child.

Fatted · 29/02/2020 21:44

Oops my youngest is actually 4 and almost 5!!

MrsJBaptiste · 29/02/2020 21:44

God, yes!

Who would say that they wouldn't? 😯

AgentJohnson · 29/02/2020 21:44

Yes, it’s a privilege being DD’s mother.

BrownAjah · 29/02/2020 21:44

Yes. I'd maybe tweak the timing though

GammaRays · 29/02/2020 21:45

Absolutely, without a doubt. DS has made me who I'm meant to be, and happier than everything else combined in my life.

SallyWD · 29/02/2020 21:45

Yes

wavecatcher · 29/02/2020 21:45

100% but I would start my family younger and hopefully have more children.

ForestYeti · 29/02/2020 21:45

Absolutely but I would pick a different father for them if it meant I could still have the same kids

Crazyoldmaurice · 29/02/2020 21:46

Yes, would have had them a little earlier had I known how much I would have enjoyed having them around

stuffingball · 29/02/2020 21:46

Yes, but I would have a bigger gap between my 2 and maybe wait a couple of years so we could have moved first

ClubfootMaestro · 29/02/2020 21:46

Yes. I miss parts of my old life but I am just so in love with my little girl

ByeMF · 29/02/2020 21:47

Absolute best things in my life. Both have had awful problems and it's been very, very challenging at times. But I adore them and no-one makes me laugh as much as they do.

Nofoolfornoone · 29/02/2020 21:47

@mrsjbaptiste I have friends irl who have said as much as they love their children if they had their time again they would not have children. Just did it as it’s what you are meant to do and wish they had thought more about how different their life could have been

Samcro · 29/02/2020 21:48

Oh i would, mine are adults now, one is severely disabled, but they both have given me so much and ds has even got a fiancé that has further enriched our lives.

MiddleClassProblem · 29/02/2020 21:48

If I had my tone again and the rule was if I had a child it wouldn’t be DD, I wouldn’t do it.

If I were to do it again and I was told I would it would be DD, I wouldn’t hesitate and would while heartedly do it (with better mental health support).

Breathingunderwater · 29/02/2020 21:48

Nope.
Negatives massively outweigh the positives for me.
There is a huge part of me that will never be myself again or truly happy - such is the worry that something will happen to either of them.
The worrying about them has changed me into someone I don’t really like. It’s relentless, thankless, boring - but mainly it’s all such a worry.

Nofoolfornoone · 29/02/2020 21:49

@Breathingunderwater thank you so much for your honesty

Yes, I had my DD when I was 35 and had travelled, built a career etc. but wow she is the best thing that I’ve ever done.

Oysterbabe · 29/02/2020 21:53

Yes absolutely. They are wonderful and make me laugh my head off every day.

dollface19 · 29/02/2020 21:53

Yes I would she has made my life having meaning even if she does my head in x lol

D4rwin · 29/02/2020 21:53

I love them. I love being a parent. But if I'd known then what was going to happen and that I can't protect and support them for much longer then no. I doubt anyone will really give them what they need after I've gone and I secretly am disappointed in the so called parenting of those who.will survive me. I wouldn't have had children.
