I've bought a new bed for the dog.

'Large' size, allegedly suitable for large dogs like labradors etc.

Thought she'd really like it as she isn't allowed on the leather sofa.

LOOK AT THE FUCKING SIZE OF IT

😡

My 15kg dog barely fits on it..

I am just so disappointed, DH thinks it's fine.

That'll learn me for buying online I suppose, I should have bought one I could see in the shop.

Ugh.
Don't know if it'll be worth my while returning it with the postage.

It's like a fucking dolly dog bed.

I am so cross.

All these lovely dogs . . .

LurcherMama · 25/01/2020 12:57

Some teeth action and when she's not being a pretzel ❤️❤️❤️

LurcherMama · 25/01/2020 12:58

It's heaven, isn't it @SchadenfreudePersonified ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Whynosnowyet · 25/01/2020 13:00

I have a confession...
Currently looking for another ddog...

LurcherMama · 25/01/2020 13:00

Awww @Whynosnowyet that's fantastic. Which beach is that? Our nearest is Roker. She's never been off-lead there tho #recall 🤷‍♀️

LurcherMama · 25/01/2020 13:01

You definitely should. I wish we had room for more. I'd love a sofa full of sighthounds. Anyone caught your eye (heart)?

Whynosnowyet · 25/01/2020 13:03

Needs to be young as not sure how ddogs will be!! They are sociable out but sharing beds is a different thing altogether!!
Beach near Hartlepool...

LurcherMama · 25/01/2020 13:09

Happy hunting. Hopefully they'll all just snuggle together.

@SchadenfreudePersonified I looooove the paw shot. That's a mighty big foot, and only 8 weeks old 😍 😍😍

The first picture is one I saw on FB - the OP reminded me of it.

Second picture is our late Lab-pointer cross, Mia, on the proper bed for any Labrador or lab cross - our king sized bed! Grin. But our dogs aren’t (and weren’t) spoilt - ohh no.

We still have a lovely brown Lab, but Mia had to be pts early this month. Sad. The bed seems very empty without her sleeping between dh and me.

It IS heaven Lurchermama

And hie IS a mighty big dog - even for a Dane, He's fairly broad too, and well-proportioned, because she didn't have him neutered too early (very early castration lands to lanky, spindley dogs with no heft, because the growth hormone to the long bones is not inhibited. They just get gangly, which is a shame.)

He's 8 now - an old man in GD terms, and is nearly blind (cataracts) which has made him a bit nervous when the spaniels are milling around his feet, and his back legs are beginning to weaken - every now and then, he'll sort of crumple - not often, but it's noticeable. We're hoping we'll have him another year (him and his buckets of slime. . . Grin)

@SchadenfreudePersonified - that is such a gorgeous paw! Dh would love a Great Dane - I think we might need a bigger bed.

Brigante9 · 25/01/2020 15:26

@SchadenfreudePersonified spaniels are designed to do the springer sprawl, no hinge conversion would work on this.

Mine have decided that the new recliner in the kitchen is theirs.

Yep - our springer does this, too - airing her ladyparts shamelessly . . .

There's also a cocker clutter - where a bunch of cocker spaniels practise a spaniel slouch, taking on a semi-liquid state which allows them to sort of melt over the surface of the furniture, flowing into every nook and cranny.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/01/2020 17:47

Roker, you say?

I was brought up two streets away from the pretentiously-named "Stadium of Light" (Roker Football Ground as it then was). Home of the Black Cats.

Whynosnowyet · 25/01/2020 18:34

Wonder how easy it would be for a ddoggy get together?
Grin

LurcherMama · 25/01/2020 19:07

Aw wow @SchadenfreudePersonified whereabouts are you these days?
I think it would be easy to get the hounds together ❤️❤️❤️

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/01/2020 20:34

Whickham - I swapped "Tyne sides" when I got married

LurcherMama · 25/01/2020 21:49

Ah ok, so up near the metro centre.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 25/01/2020 21:57

I suppose so . . . I'm geographically dyslexic but I know it only takes 10 -15 minutes to get there.

onegiftedgal · 26/01/2020 13:38

A dog sofa? First world problem surely.

It's an animal and should be happy outside in a kennel or inside on the floor at best.
Don't people with dogs realise that their houses stink and you can smell it on the owners too - absolutely rank.

userxx · 26/01/2020 13:41

@onegiftedgal Someone's having a bad day 🤣
