I've bought a new bed for the dog.

'Large' size, allegedly suitable for large dogs like labradors etc.

Thought she'd really like it as she isn't allowed on the leather sofa.

My 15kg dog barely fits on it..

I am just so disappointed, DH thinks it's fine.

That'll learn me for buying online I suppose, I should have bought one I could see in the shop.

Don't know if it'll be worth my while returning it with the postage.

It's the same colour as my much loved leather suite, that's why I bought it.

The faux leather is a bit shit, I did look at a proper wooden framed Italian leather dog sofa but they were over £600 and I thought that might be just a tad excessive 😂

Bet she would have fitted properly on the horrifically expensive one though...

I bought mine a tuffies bed nest, without measuring. As they share a bed, I ordered the XL. It is extra large....... so large that my 3 older grandchildren can lie in it as well as the 2 dogs

They love it though and have plenty of room to stretch out...... you just have to walk around it!!

Sell it online.at least you’ll get some money back, then go to B&M because they’ve some lovely dog beds. Or buy a second hand baby’s cote and repurpose it, if you want something different. Pinterest is your friend.

What you need is an ORVIS bed.
Step1. Buy bed, first re mortgaging house to pay for it.
Step2. Find somewhere to put it where it doesn’t entirely dominate the room.
Step 3. Give up
Step 4. Watch dog get in, look at you as if you’re a crazy lady and then get out again,

Step5.For two years keep bed in lounge while dog lies on sofa/wooden floor.
Step6. Admit defeat and hide under bed in spare room. (the dog bed...not me)

Send it back and buy a normal sized armchair/coach for £20 off gumtree

Or go to ikea and buy him an arm chair that would match your sofa. Would probably take the same amount of room

Send it back and get a small sofa from somewhere like Ikea? I guess 'suitable' means they 'can sit' even if not ample room? Lesson in checking measurements I guess, we all do things like that from time to time.

I used to have a massive dog and to save my furniture I bought her a full size 2 seater futon from gumtree to stretch out.

@frostedviolets Online shopping for this kind of thing is no good! So hard to tell the size. My mum paid about £180 for her dog bed so your's is a bargain :)

Might be a bit of an issue if she has a sleepover
