Do you wear foundation everyday to work?

I recently started a grad scheme. This morning I realised I had run out of foundation. My reaction to the prospect of going into the office without it really surprised me.

Everyone my age wears make up.

No? I'm 32. I wear mascara. That's it?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/01/2020 11:42

Nope. I only wear foundation on some nights out.

Catinheat · 17/01/2020 11:43

What is your age?

OoohTheStatsDontLie · 17/01/2020 11:44

I do, powder foundation so only takes a second to apply and is fairly light and doesnt need to be blended.

I have quite blotchy skin otherwise

MaMaMaMySharona · 17/01/2020 11:44

I wear foundation every day, would feel very uncomfortable going out without it (unless it was just for a dog walk or something)

I'm 32

Sunsetsandmoons · 17/01/2020 11:46

Nope never have. Save it for a night out only although I do look better with it.

Ashtower · 17/01/2020 11:47

23

I wear a tiny bit of foundation (1/4 of a pump), eye liner , blush, mascara and nude-pink lipstick. It's a very natural look.

Might wear lip liner if I want a nuder lip.

No. Often, but not always. Probably would if I was chairing a meeting with externals or giving a talk with lots of people, photos, filming etc..

I look and feel more tired without makeup. Only takes me 10 mins on the train.

Tableclothing · 17/01/2020 11:47

I do. I have a lot of hyperpigmentation and old acne scars, so my naked skin looks like freckles in the negative, iyswim. I've seen people flinch and stare when they see me without makeup for the first time. Foundation makes it so much less noticeable.

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 17/01/2020 11:47

yes - just a very light coverage, but I do feel it's part of my office "uniform" I guess.
I often go bare faced for the school run, or just mooching out and about locally

ThunderGarlic · 17/01/2020 11:48

I'm in my forties.

QuestionableMouse · 17/01/2020 11:48

Nope. I very rarely wear make up (mostly because I'm a lazy bugger who'd rather stay in bed for that bit longer. 😂😂😂)

I will keep some powder in my bag in case I feel a bit shiny but that's it.

DappledThings · 17/01/2020 11:48

I only wear any kind of make up at all for weddings. So I wear foundation about twice a year.

blondie87 · 17/01/2020 11:49

I wear foundation or tinted moisturiser every day as I used to have acne and so am in the habit of it, plus it evens out my complexion. Don’t plaster it on though! I’m early 30s.

SummerInSun · 17/01/2020 11:49

42 years old here. Wore no makeup to work in my 20s. Since I turned 30 I wear tinted moisturiser, and occasionally lipstick and mascara if I have an external meeting.

PlomBear · 17/01/2020 11:49

Full make up everyday. Moisturiser, primer, foundation, under eye concealer, eye liner, mascara, eye shadow, blusher, lipstick!

Ninjakittysmellz · 17/01/2020 11:49

Yes - my everyday face is primer, Double wear, bronzer, blush, eyebrow pencil and mascara....

I feel shit without it on Blush

SecondRatePony · 17/01/2020 11:50

I work from home mostly now so am lucky if I get dressed Grin

When I went into an office everyday, I wore foundation every day. Without it everyone would tell me I looked tired and ill but I often thought about stopping wearing so much makeup.

fluffedupferretonsteroids · 17/01/2020 11:52

I'm a chef and very grateful that I dont have to wear makeup.

userabcname · 17/01/2020 11:53

No. I do like make up and will wear it on evenings out and to special occasions but i can't be bothered on a daily basis.

Ashtower · 17/01/2020 11:53

My routine only takes about 6 mins in the morning

(do skincare at night to "unwind")

When I was your age, I would have done, because I enjoyed makeup. My DD's sometimes don't, they have good skin and completions, some of their friends, who don't, always wear foundation.

Now, at work, I would always use Bare Minerals and I need a undereye colour corrector. Day to day, sometimes just undereye corrector and concealer.

Camomila · 17/01/2020 11:53

I never wear foundation as fountaion - I occasionally put a bit under my eyes as concealer if I look particularly tired.

Ashtower · 17/01/2020 11:54

Very interesting. I guess it varies from office to office. I honestly think 90% of women in my office wear make up. 100% of people my age.

Ponoka7 · 17/01/2020 11:55

With mascara.
